Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Lion-O, Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, WilyKit & WilyKat continue their quest, now armed with the Book of Omens to lead the way. Watch Lion-O's power and confidence grow as Mumm-Ra's forces increase in these 8 action-packed episodes.

Amazon.com:
Like the original ThunderCats (1985), this new version is based on a line of sword-and-sorcery toys and action figures. As the adventure continues, Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, WilyKit, and WilyKat pursue the magical stones that will enable them to reestablish the feline kingdom and defeat the evil Mumm-Ra and his minions. In the early episodes, the ThunderCats aid the Berbils, a group of robotic teddy bears, and a tribe of philosophical elephants who talk like Apu in The Simpsons. Both groups prove to be valuable allies, despite their seemingly harmless appearance. But most of these episodes focus on the sibling rivalry between Lion-O and Tygra. As the older brother, Tygra feels he should be the heir to the throne; Cheetara's announcement that she loves Tygra upsets Lion-O. When Lion-O inadvertently leads his friends into an ambush, he risks his life and soul to win their safety in a contrived series of didactic trials. Despite the guns, quarterstaves, nunchucks, tanks, ray guns, and martial arts moves, American TV restrictions on violence reduce the battles to ineffectual feints and explosions. (Not rated: suitable for ages 8 and older; violence) --Charles Solomon
