This time for the Superherouniverse store. I made a poster and a t-shirt of Time-Rider riding the ocean waves. If Adam West can do it as Batman, why not Time-Rider surfing? This one might kind of remind you of the Karate Kid. I actually started with a pic of Van Damme and created this silhouette of a man kicking. I had to cut and retrace the edges it a couple of times to make it look right. I added a head band like the Karate Kid. I created the circle and ran some light filters from Gimp on it for the background.

Karate Kick Tshirt by Sportsfitness

Keep Kicking Karate by Sportsfitness

1 comment Tim Tue, 08 Jul 2014 16:40:34 +0000 Black Cat vs Pumpkin Halloween http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/30101

by: Tim

Description: I know it's not Halloween, but I'm trying to get the jump on creating some holiday t-shirts and posters. I figure if I keep playing around with these, one of them is going to go viral. You never know it could happen. Let me know what you all think. I drew like 90 percent of this one from this old picture I found on a site that said it was public domain. I didn't want to take a chance on putting a copyrighted pic on a t-shirt so I decided to recreate it, plus it was good practice too. The moon I just used a filter on to cartoon it up and then I colored it in again. I found some branches and skeletons for the background that I just darkened in all the way, and the clouds I made in Gimp using a paint brush and smudge tool. He secretly invented the first ever laser gun, and flew in what might have been the world's very first jet plane. He was years ahead of his time and enjoyed a life of high adventure. His parents, who were immigrants to America's shores, named him Liberty in honor of the very first thing they saw coming into America, the Statue of Liberty. When the US went into World War II he quickly went to work fighting the Axis and their attempts at gathering ancient weapons and artifacts of great power across the world. Toward the end of the war, while trying to prevent the Nazis from obtaining the Amulet of King Snefru, which was said to have the power to bring the dead back to life, he found himself entombed in King Snefru's pyramid tomb for decades. Finally, when explorers opened the tomb of King Snefru in 2014, a explosion of air blasted through the tomb reviving Liberty Hawke, who was clutching the amulet tight in his hands. Not only was Hawke alive, but to his surprise and everyone else's he had not aged even a day. Now the greatest adventurer of the 1940's must learn to cope in a modern politically correct world that almost seems mad to a man of his day. Once ahead of his time, he now finds himself considered an old relic of history, but Liberty Hawke ever a man of non-conformity believes he can teach this new world a thing or two. Can the modern world learn to get along with Liberty Hawke?

2 comments Tim Mon, 30 Jun 2014 22:31:44 +0000 Duck Dallas http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/30066

by: Tim

Description: Some new characters I dreamed up for Zazzle products. Still working on SS's character overall. What do you think? Should SS shoot the bad guys or fight them hand to hand like Batman? Or both like Indiana Jones? I'm considering whether or not SS should be gritty and tough or maybe like the Lone Ranger just shoot the weapons out of their hands. Values were high. TV shows weren't even allowed to show married couples in bed together. Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll and parents were shocked at his inability to stand still while singing. Cursing in front of ladies was unheard of. Davy Crockett died at the Alamo on screen and started a coonskin cap craze.

Kids still prayed and said the pledge of allegiance in school, and the worst, on average, school behavior problems of the decade nationwide were talking and chewing gum during class, not counting some of the big city brawls and violent behaviors in some high schools that seemed to coincide with the new rebellious rock and roll attitude of the generation.

In the world of heroes
Time-Rider was just beginning his career, not counting the fact he was a big help in WWII thanks to his time traveling 57 Chevy, and of course his time in the Navy.
The Atomic Titan was one of the biggest heroes of the land. Kids wanted Titan t-shirts, and specially made Titan bicycles with his atomic logo.
It was a time of patriotism and deep love for God and country. There were issues of racism that were held over from the Civil War era. The Klan made efforts to terrorize those that would try to change the status quo of racial tolerance in America, but heroes like Time-Rider, Johnny Rebel, and Atomic Titan stood up and let them know why America was the land of the free and the home of the brave. After all the bloodshed for freedom and democracy in WWII these heroes were not about to let the Klan or anybody else tell the American people that we were not all created equal as Abraham Lincoln said all those many years ago. Rebel was actually around when Lincoln spoke those words during the Gettysburg address, and knew first hand how much was sacrificed that all men might be free.
These mystery men believed in the pursuit of happiness, not that it was guaranteed or handed down by a government program, mind you, but that every American, regardless of race or religion had the right to fight, work, sweat, and strive to make their dreams a reality. These heroes, as well as others, stood their ground and protected the weak, the helpless, the ones that couldn't speak for themselves. Americans would not go through what Germany and Russia went through on their watch. If America was to ever fall to tyranny, it would at least not ever be by violent groups like the Klan or by the criminal underworld if they had anything to say about it.

When those heroes spoke these words, "God Bless America!", they meant every word.

Relive the 50's in the Fifties store

3 comments Tim Sat, 24 May 2014 15:55:13 +0000 Atomic Titan Defeated? http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/29747

by: Tim

Description: Has Rad killed the Atomic Titan completely altering history as we know it? Parents were killed in car bomb meant for his father a police detective who got too close to a drug lord's operations. At age 15 he was adopted by a mysterious man who trained Arthur seemingly for combat. He was schooled everyday in the use of firearms, martial arts, and various forms of survival training. Arthur joined the Marines and served in combat and was discharged after being wrongly accused of a crime he did not commit. Dishonorably discharged and nowhere to go, Arthur's life seemed to be headed on a nowhere path. The man who had adopted had disappeared off the face of the earth. He had nowhere to go until one night an old billionaire by the name of Merlin Hall took him under his wing and explained his entire life since the day he had been adopted was a set up to train him for something quite unique. The old man explained his pregnant wife had been killed years ago which prompted him to implement a plan. This plan would utilize his vast fortune and the aid of someone who hated criminals as much as he did. It had to be someone young who could be trained and molded into a perfect human fighting machine. Now Arthur has been presented to the world as the lost son of Merlin Hall and lives the life of a playboy billionaire but during the night he fights to rid Hill City of the criminal element that robbed him of his parents. Also referred to sometimes in press reports as the Silver Knight or Silver Bullet even though his identity is secret of course. Powers: Merlin's billions enabled him to give Arthur an experimental treatment which gave him super speed healing. The more Arthur trains the more he builds strength and overall muscle as he heals as fast as he trains. Arthur has access to a fleet of armored vehicles and aircraft that reside in his own skyscraper in the middle of the city. His suit is made of a experimental light weight silver metal that stops most if not all bullets while allowing Arthur to utilize his vast combat and acrobatic skills in hand to hand combat against the criminal elements of Hill City.

8 comments Tim Sun, 18 May 2014 22:33:04 +0000 Time-Rider WWII Poster http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/29735

by: Tim

Description: Another mysterious World War II poster was found with a flying car in the background. No one would even see anything like it until the 1950's when that era's Chevy was introduced, but even then that wasn't a flying car, at least we believe no one had seen anything like this. Did the government tell the artist to sit on this poster as this one was the only one found? Another version of this World War II poster was released and looked exactly the same, but without the flying car. Some say the superhero Time-Rider actually works for the government and like his name indicates can literally fly through time in a flying car, but the government officially denies it all, of course. Time-Rider, himself has never answered any questions concerning the nature of his powers to the public. He simply grins and says no comment every time he's asked, which is the same thing he does when asked about his actual age. Interestingly enough the V for victory symbol, as everyone knows, is a part of Time-Rider's insignia

2 comments Tim Tue, 13 May 2014 18:51:13 +0000 Warrior Woman http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/29703

by: Tim

Description: I took a shot at trying to recreate one of the Warrior Women from MA's Maverick & the Valkyrie #1 "A match made in Valhalla" As you can probably tell I used a Wonder Woman picture as a base.

7 comments Tim Wed, 07 May 2014 22:23:51 +0000 Bionic Bigfoot http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/29686

by: Tim

Description: Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors standing next to the Bionic Bigfoot. Is this better or worse than Atomic Titan's other costume. I don't know if it's the time change or what, but I got to thinking this morning AT should have more fiery colors to go with his atomic powers, but I thought I'd ask you all to see what you thought. His hair is even more red here. Compare to original picture. Maybe his appearance and costume could change in the modern world showing a difference between 50's AT and modern AT, of course both costumes look retro by today's standards.

10 comments Tim Tue, 11 Mar 2014 13:33:37 +0000 Rebel in Oak Ridge http://superherouniverse.com/art/showphoto.php/photo/29521

by: Tim

Description: Johnny Rebel is on the trail of Rad in the 1950's in this panel. If you wonder why Rad changes shades of red sometimes, it' the radioactivity. I used a Hulk image by John Byrne to start with. Clint Eastwood would have made a great Nick Fury. Maybe if they could give him some super soldier serum, he could still pull it off. Heck, as tough as old Clint is I bet a shot of HGH like Stallone takes, a weight lifting regime, and some hair dye would give good old Clint Eastwood the looks to do it now.
