Johnny has the mental abilities of telepathy, telekinesis, limited force-field protection, and mental energy projection. Most impressive of this is his psionic mental flame that he can manifest as a visual green tinted flame. The “astra-fire” blast is a massive drain on Johnny’s endurance, but it is also powerful enough to render most super-powered opponents unconscious for at least a brief time. After his late teen years scamming the Vegas blackjack scene, Johnny felt he could and should do better. He devoted himself to helping the community at large instead of lining his own pocket. Of special note is the claim by some in the fringe that Astra Fire is related to, and possibly a direct descendent of the WW2-era Nazi mental master known as Mind Leech. Johnny’s grandfather did in fact emigrate from Germany in 1932 and also changed the family name from Schmidtt to Smith. Other than that circumstantial evidence, no concrete and verifiable facts truly exists due to the matter that the Allies never discovered the identity of Mind Leech. Mind Leech worked behind the scenes for Hitler and was not know outside the higher levels of the Western Military Powers until documents surface in the early 1960s. This, combined with an apparent report of death in 1945 has kept Mind Leech and any legacy to the present a mystery. Back in about 1986 he created Toronox. Several weeks ago I made an image and sent it to him on Facebook. I told him I’d like to introduce Toronox to SuperheroU and asked for a back-story. He’s working on that now, along with a possible name change. In the interim, he said I could post. I’ll update info later based on what Kevin comes up with. Generally Toronox is an acrobatic hero with special gauntlets. These gauntlets have spikes attached with thin cable that allow them to be fired and retracted. He uses them as both an offensive weapon and such tasks as climbing/repelling. If anyone has a new name suggestion, please post and I’ll forward it to Kevin. Though he never met John Martin while an active agent, he heard of his many heroic adventures in the Time Stream. Eventually he volunteered to be a Time Soldier like Time-Rider. After months of training he was deemed qualified for Soldier status. After a successful generic trip to 1994, he became an active Time Soldier. Unknown o the A.T.T.A., he had discovered a flaw in the Time-Tracking mechanism and took several extended and unauthorized trips to the past. Longer trips into the Time Stream can cause psychosis in some, and that's eventually what happened. One official mission took him to a time mere days before an Uncle's murder. He pretended to lose contact with the A.T.T.A. towards the end of the mission and instead stayed in the past and saved his Uncle. Upon his return a slight change in the Time Stream was detected. While his Uncle's continued life had no major consequences, it was proposed that the past needed to be repaired. He was outraged by the news and deemed their "fix" as murder. After much debate, it was was finalized that the past indeed need to be reset. Time-Rider reluctantly took the assignment with a heavy-heart. Though he would not directly be killing him, plus the fact the Uncle's extended life was false, he appreciated the magnitude of his action/inn-actions. The mission was a "success" and a Time Lock was placed around the event. That same evening, the man soon known as Time-Reaver, breached security and successfully entered the past. He headed straight back to his Uncle's time. The Time-Lock repelled his admittance and bounced him into an apparent limbo. There Time-Reaver sat undetected for several months, all the while his mind seething with thoughts of revenge. Eventually he gained control of his situation and materialized at a previously established secret safe-house located in 1957. In time he was able to modify a 1958 Plymouth Fury for his Time Sled. From here he began his mission of revenge against the A.T.T.A. in general and Time-Rider specifically. The A.T.T.A. are still not aware of the Time-Tracking flaw, so Time-Reaver travels the Time Stream with nearly complete anonymity. Roger Stevens volunteered for medical enhancement and intense combat training. Covert missions into Germany followed. After December 7th, 1941, Captain Freedom was cut loose and his existence was well publicized. By March of 1942 Captain Freedom was the face of the United States superhero war-effort. Stevens relished that roll and did not disappoint. Despite never capturing his nemesis, Death Mask, he did stop his previously unbroken kill streak, giving hope to many world-wide. This crack in the Nazi super powered effort showed they were not invincible. Captain freedom alternated between the Pacific and European theatre; wherever he could serve his country best. As the Russians slowly advanced to Berlin in early 1945, Captain Freedom fought his way to the city early. Weeks of cat-and-mouse surveillance espionage finally lead Stevens to a bunker housing Adolf Hilter himself. In the end it was a cleaver ruse and Captain freedom was captured is a deep-freeze cryogenics trap. Though not part of the actual capture, once Death Mask was informed of the situation, he wanted Captain Freedom killed. Hitler intervened as his intention was to keep Captain Freedom out of commission for several months then use him for a propaganda purposes in the Fall. These plans never came to fruition as Hitler’s focus soon came to self-preservation as the Red Army drew closer. Massive shelling eventually collapsed the cryo-laboratory, sealing Captain Freedom under tons of rubble... Captain Freedom possesses a brilliant tactical mind, augmented strength (3/4 ton range), incredible agility, extended aging resistance, and his impenetrable Victory Shield. Jerod Fri, 28 Jan 2011 06:21:49 -0600 Death Mask; WW2

by: Jerod

Description: Death Mask The man known as Death Mask started as low-level muscle for Adolf Hitler starting in about 1936. His ferocity and efficiency caught the attention of the Furher and he was selected for additional special training. By mid-1938 he was the Reich’s chief covert option for assassination and terror-killings. To maximize his influence, Death Mask took to wearing a partial Skull mask and theatrical robe. This visual fit well in propaganda posters put out by the Reich. In short time his image of terror crossed all Europe and North America. His kill rate was 100% until the costumed American hero Captain Freedom crossed his path in early 1942. The initial skirmish was a draw at best and both individuals felt lucky to survive. Death Mask was infuriated by his first failure and pleaded with Hitler for help with the growing problem of costumes adventures whom were appearing more frequently on the battlefield. A scientific task force was initiated to develop kill weapons for other than human opponents. Despite being classified as a ruthless killer, Death Mask also had a high intellect. Soon he was in charge of the task force and took the lead in many weapons options. By late 1943 Death Mask, aside from “normal” kills, had eliminated several low-level costume adventurers from Australia, England, Ireland, and the United States. The first meta-human kill came in 1944 with the death of the Russian hero Red Tempest. The superhero world as a whole was put on notice as to Death Mask’s advanced scientific means. Death Mask skirmished with Captain Freedom this whole time, never getting the upper hand. The two became worst of enemies. Captain Freedom abruptly disappeared in February of 1945. Though offering no proof, Death Mask claimed responsibility for his apparent death. Emboldened by this victory, Hitler felt it could be a rallying point for the German population, which by this time was in dire straits. With the deaths of Red Tempest and Captain Freedom as a base, Death Mask made bold predictions of super V-2 rockets, codenamed “Death Rain” reaching American cities. Panic was immediate but short lived as the chaos in Germany became more apparent. Death Mask’s authenticated last WW2 appearance came mid-April, 1945 in Berlin. After the fall of Berlin on May 2nd, Russian forces claimed to have killed Death Mask whom was defending Hitler’s Bunker. As with Hitler himself, no body was ever produced which lead to speculation that perhaps one, or both actually escaped. Either way, nothing was heard from Death Mask for decades. Jerod Fri, 28 Jan 2011 06:21:49 -0600 Prime Concern

by: Jerod

Description: Prime Concern is the self-appointed moniker of a powerful villain in the SuperheroU. Prime Concern is supremely strong (top three of all SpyCo characters) and ruthless. Early in his career he was mostly hired muscle; though after several years he felt better served by serving himself. His appearance has changed over the years. Initially his costume relied on leather, spikes, chains, and jack boots. In time he felt superiority over all opponents, so he decided he needed little costume theatrics to intimidate. Current costume is merely a streamlined body-suit that highlights his exaggerated physique. Prime Concern's origin and total strength and invulnerability levels are unknown. Black eyes and an unnatural orange hued skin lead most to speculate he was involved in some type of power achieving accident/event. He has confirmed or denied nothing. The actual origin of Nvisible has it roots with the experimental suit briefly worn by the Spy who field tested an auto-camouflaging body-suit the government had worked on for years. The stealth program had it’s in roots in probable extraterrestrial technology provided Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer; obtained on a mission in the jungles of Guatemala. <img border="0" src="; width="250" height="142" > The tiny electronic remnants were not suitable for full reverse engineering, but did point the scientist in advanced directions. In the end, the body-suit provided limited adaptable camouflaging. The suit is white in off or stand-by mode. It can turn jet-black for advanced stealth in night-time or low-light settings. The adaptable “on” function allows it to automatically color match it’s general environment. <img border="0" src="; width="168" height="264" > As in the image seen here, the center orange suit represents how the suit would adapt to a brick wall. Scientist had to focus on its ability to mimic ambient colors which has obvious limitations. Color without the appropriate texture could not be achieved. Because of this issue the programs was eventually cancelled. Before that, the Spy himself swore off the outfit after it malfunctioned during a snow-scape mission. The suit inexplicitly turned bright pink, which did not fit well in his white environment. He barely evaded multiple enemy snipers as the mission was aborted. Several years later the government decided to take another look at the suit. Nathan West led a team that quickly made major modifications and improvements. Still missing were the desired visual texture and anti-shadow features. Nathan cracked the code and came on a solution. At the same time he saw the potential financial rewards the suit could provide. Despite being well compensated by the government, he lusted for more. He kept the critical final information away from his team and would send them in another direction if any seemed close to discovering the secrets he held. Nathan bided his time for months, claiming perhaps the team had gone as far as they could. Eventually the program, despite several advances, was scuttled again. Nathan immediately dropped out of site and within 3 months had created/re-created the super-invisibility suit with all the modifications he has been withholding. After several successful small town bank heists in the Midwest, Nathan West set his sites on Las Vegas. Within weeks he had millions. A chance encounter with the Crusader was short but successful. He saw he could evade even trained heroes. After several months of S.E.A.L. equivalent training, the already athletic scientists offered his services to the Mob as an assassin. The word spread and soon Nathan had the money and notoriety he’d always desired. Presently as Nvisible he serves as a hit man for the highest bidder while still performing heists when he gets bored. Through still unknown means, Baker Noth can alter his height at will. This includes a proportional increase in strength, approximately 2 tons per every foot. Upper height appears to be approximately 50 feet and 100 tons. Baker can only maintain this maximum height for 15 minutes. While super-height comes with super-strength, it also has limits on mobility. Actions become more lumbering, reaction time declines, and there are issues with balance. Because of this, Big N normally maintains a fighting size of 15 feet, allowing him to maximize a balance between reaction and strength. Big N is wildly popular in England and patrols the streets of London when not on global-scale emergency situations. Originally nicknamed Big Ben for obvious reasons, Baker had to officially take moniker Big N due to threats of lawsuits. This didn’t stop him from referencing the famous clock in his costume design.
