Alan Scott while traveling by train find a mysterious and powerful fragment of a meteor. Imbued with the energies of the Starheart Meteor, Scott fashions a ring and a lantern from the fragment and becomes the GREEN LANTERN.

Much later Alan finds that he fathered not one but two children. Jennie-Lynn, raised by a kind and loving Hayden family discovers her true origins, when her body becomes the living recepticle of the power of the Starheart.

Her brother Todd, was instead adopted and raised by the abusive Rice's. Like his sister he would inherit great power from his true father. Todd would become a shadow capable of great feats, but he also inherited the mental illness of his natural mother, the Golden-Age villain Thorn.

After a short time as a villain Todd recovered and also came out to his friends and family as one of the few openly gay superheroes. Together these three form a powerful, if not sometimes dysfunctional family alliance.

Good art, but I didn't realize Alan Scott was such a player. He didn't even know he had kids? Boy his family sounds worse than a mixture of Peyton Place, Dallas, Dynasty, and whatever passes for soap operas these days. Got to wonder whatever happened to the days when good guys drank milk, never had sex, and bopped the bad guys, and bad guys only wanted to take over the world or destroy it. Ahh the good old days.
