Wendell Brooks was born in the ghettos of Cincinnati. Asa child he exhibited an above average intelligence and a knack for fixing any mechanical device put in front of him.

Hiding in books, Wendell was able to avoid the violence that claimed his older brother and the alcoholism that consumed his father.

Wendell qualified nd applied to the nations top schools, but because of his color was refused entry. He became the neighborhood fix-it man and opened a small repair shop. He married and had a son Wendell Jr.

One day two corrupt cops tried to shake him down as part of a protection racket. He refused. The next week Wendell's store was fire bombed injuring him and crippling his son.

Wendell was determined to stop crime whether it was the street hoods that killed his brother or happened to be wearing a badge. He constructed his flight pack and a firearm that could shoot an assortment of non-lethal ammo.
When World War II broke out Wendell answered the call of the President by joining the Freedom League.

Notes: Another original character from my youth. Used the texturizer to apply the sweater and denim textures. Grabbed a back pack from a Buck Rogers fan site and the "gun" is a modified 17th century blunderbuss. The background is the Roebling Bridge in Cincy.

I've said this before, History, but as much as i love your work, the best part is always your great descriptions. I can never get enough of them. Great job!

Thanks! Now if only a comic company loved the stories! LOL.

Seriously receiving comments and critiques from artists, whose work I find outstanding is worth the effort.
