Well looking at it now that I'm done the only one I like out of it is Deadlaw. My lines are too thick.

create a new layer above the pic,use the pen tool,with a small brush"trace" the pic little by little, stroking the path as you go,i ink sketches like that works really well , but it is time consuming so be patient!! then create another layer and color on that,move the inked layer on top when finished. if the lines are to small you can alway's stroke the whole thing.

You can also modify the outside thicknes if keep each character in a separate layer. Use the "Magic" wand and select outside of your character. The resulting outline can then be modified by going to "Select---> Modify ---> Expand" choose expand by 1 pixel to gain some control of the outside boundary until you have the right thicknes then hit delete. I use that technique when cutting things out that have visible edges from their respective BG or when I use a thicker brush for my original drawing.
