So because of that healing factor, the only way to knock him out would be to hit him REALLY hard, or beat him up really fast, before he has a chance to recover?

Rick if you ran over him with a train, shot him in the head with a bazooka, and then rushed him into a meeting with an IRS agent at the same time. I think that would do it.
Seriously though I guess I'll have to come up with some form of kryptonite for our hero. In the story I'm working on now he does find himself up against some really high stakes bad guys that push him to the limit. And they don't even have powers.
