In spring of 1943, the gestapo received reports of a hermit “knight” living in a remote part of the country. Though seldom seen outside the city, hunters reported spying him train with swords and other medieval weapons while in seclusion. Hitler himself sent me to both investigate then kill this swordsman so he would not be a hindrance to the Reich at a later time. After nearly a week of searching, I found the man. He spoke with an old Germanic accent and fancied himself a “Kreuzritter”- a crusader. I admit his skill with a broadsword was outstanding. I though was quicker and eventually left him a bloody mess lying on the green grass of the clearing. Perhaps it was a mistake at the time to assume death based on the massive wounds he received, but I had taken too long to find his location and had to leave in a hurry. Prior to our swordplay I’d received a message to report to Altlandsberg immediately. Spies believed the Allies were plotting to sabotage the Tesla Tower in that region. I could waste little time on this single man when the Tower, the Reich’s main defense against super-metas like Johnny Rebel, was at risk. Looking back I feel I did make a mistake leaving in such haste. It appears this Kreuzritter is still alive and may be involved with assembling the sword Zandrexyn. If so, I will defeat him the same as decades past, and this time make sure that death comes his way. If he has the sword, all the better. With it I could become more powerful than my recent “partner” Blackhorn.

cool though I wonder if Death Mask was really a better swordsman as Kreuzritter has been training for centuries? Either way I like how it ties into everything else. It could've been simply the Kreuzritter underestimated Death Mask and made a mistake during their fight. He does seem a bit conceded as he has been around so long.

MAvenger- The better swordsman dosen't always win. It'd be differnt actually fighting a skilled fighter as opposed to a training dummy. I figured Death Mask used his speed advantage and gained the upperhand this time around. He finds an opening and piles on, winning round one.

hadn't thought of that Jerod. I guess not being in real combat for a long time would make him rusty against flesh and blood opponents.
