With The drawing of his mother’s killer in hand he travels the streets in search of answers. He interrogates about twenty different vampires and none will tell him who it is. He can’t understand, they know who it is but they’re all too afraid to say his name. The last vampire he interrogated told him, “There is not one vampire who will tell you who he is. Not one! You don’t wanna know anyway, that kind of information will get you killed.” Who is he? Why are all these vampires afraid to talk to him? These were the questions he couldn’t help but ask himself. The phone rings, its Commissioner Jennifer again. “Hello Commissioner.” She replies, “What is your status Turner? Have you learned anything?” Our hero tells her that he has learned that no one wants to talk about him. Why did he tell her that, he isn’t even sure what he’s going to tell her when he finds the killer? Time was running out, he has until tomorrow before she confiscates the drawing. He could just get it copied but he didn’t want to leave her out of it. Either way, he’d be keeping information from her. What is he going to tell her that he hunts vampires? Why does he even care what happens to her? “I don’t like that, why don’t you come back in now and forget it. I can’t afford to have something happen to you.” VH tells her not to worry. He knows one more vampire to talk to before he calls it quits. He hangs up the phone then calls Gala to teleport him back to HQ. In a flash he’s there and looks for Brenda. He finds her in her living quarters, “Hey there sugar.” He enters her room and shuts the door. “I need your help with something… I’ve been all over New York asking Vampires one simple question and all of them have refused to answer. So I’m going to ask you…” He pulls out the drawing. “Who is this?” She looks at the drawing then steps back. “Where did you find that sugar?” VH replies, “The cop who was murdered gave this description before he died. Who is this? And why won’t anyone talk about him?” Brenda was silent and breathed heavy. “Are you sure you want to know darling?” He nodded and she sat down. “You won’t find him anything about him anywhere. Very few people who know about him, who are not vampires, are alive to tell you about him and all vampires fear him. He is Xanatos, The Master Vampire. That is all anyone knows about him. I beg you sugar, don’t go looking for him. Vlad was tough but he is nothing to Xanatos.” At long last… a name to go with the face, Xanatos. “I cannot promise you that my friend… He not only killed Commissioner Thorn but he killed my mother and I will make him pay.” He leaves the room and goes back to New York. It was time to go tell the young and beautiful Commissioner what he has learned. “Wait! Am I mad? I can’t tell her about Xanatos. If I can’t tell her the truth then what do I tell her?” It was getting worse, he was now thinking about her constantly, even having feelings about her. A sudden scream sent chills down his spine. It was close; he raced to the scene to find a vampire feasting on a woman. “Maybe you haven’t heard friend but if you want human blood you go to the New York Underworld. You feast on people in my streets you answer to me.” The dark figure laughed hard and kept his back to VH. “You must be the one they call The Vampire Hunter, yes?” VH replied, “That’s right friend you are?” The vampire said nothing. Police sirens were getting closer then the vampire said, “Sorry but we will have to continue this conversation later.” He chucks the woman’s dead body at VH and for a split second he saw the vampires face. Before he could speak the woman’s corpse handed on him and lost sight of the vampire. “NO! NO!!! GET BACK HERE!!!... XANATOS!!!!!!” His voice echoed through the alley. A street bum saw VH standing next to the dead woman and said to the police, “There! It’s the killer! The one who killed the Commissioner!!!” VH whipped his head around to see cops running towards him, “Ahhhh crap!” He runs and climbs to the rooftops. Only to be met by a police chopper with lights beaming down on him. “This is the police, put your hands over your head and stay in the light!” said the policeman from the helicopter. VH runs and jumps from roof to roof, trying to escape the police. He is suddenly close lined by Commissioner Thorn, “Stay down punk! Or I’ll shoot!” She yelled. He slowly gets up, “You’ve got the wrong guy.” She smiles and says, “That’s what they all say. I knew I’d be the one to find you. Now you’re goanna pay for killing my father.” He put his hands up and said, “I didn’t kill your father! Someone else did.” She kept her gun on him waiting for more cops to come. “Just shut up! Better yet, give me a good reason to kill you, please do.” Suddenly the helicopter goes spinning out of control and crashes into the alley then the Commissioner is grabbed by the throat. “He’s right by the way, I killed your father.” He then threw her off the building but is saved by VH. He puts her safely on the next rooftop then jumps back to the other roof where the vampire waits. She looks at the ground and sees that he dropped a phone and recognizes it, “Turner?” VH faces the vampire and sees his face clearly, it was him, Xanatos. “Sorry for the trouble back there but I came back when I heard you call my name.” Xanatos said. VH was filled with all sorts of emotions; it was him, the vampire who killed his mother, the vampire who created him. “I’m just glad to see you again.” VH replied. Xanatos was puzzled, “Have I tried to kill you before?” Under his helmet, Jack smiles. “Yes, when I was just ten years old you killed my mother. You would have killed me if it was not for a brave cop. and two days ago, you killed him.” Xanatos smiles then throws his head back and laughs. “How ironic is that?” Two more helicopters were on their way and Xanatos disappears again but not before saying, “Goodbye for now Vampire Hunter and don’t you worry, we will meet again soon.” VH is furious that he lost Xanatos again and falls to his knees. Commissioner pulls him up to his feet then calls off her choppers. “Alright Turner, tell me everything.”
