“Where have you been all these years Zack, where’s father? ... Who did this to you, who made you a vampire? Is dad one too?” Zack paused and tried to think, it was hard for him to remember. VH was growing impatient but Zack implored him to give him a minute. Soon he began his story, “Father and I were coming home… he saw a woman being attacked and went to help. The vampire attacked dad then I attacked the vampire begging him to leave dad alone. He killed dad then looked at me, deciding what to do with me. He said I was too young for a ghoul and that I’d be a said vampire at my age. For some reason he decided to keep me alive. Years he tortured me and slowly made me forget who I was then a year ago when I had forgotten everything he had one of his servant vampires turn me and made me an assassin. When I saw your face, everything started coming back to me. The first was that we are brothers.” VH was afraid to ask again but needed to know, “Was it Xanatos?” Zack nodded, “He killed our father.” VH then said, “He also killed mom, he killed her right in front of me.” Zack punched a hole in the brick wall next to him, “He killed our father, he killed our mother, he turned me into a vampire… it ends now!” Zack leads VH to a warehouse outside the city. “Why are we here?” VH asked. “This belongs to Xanatos. I was to meet him here after killing you and the cop. I’ll go in first and when the moment is right we attack and kill him.” VH nods and climbs to the roof while Zack enters the warehouse. “Lord Xanatos, are you here?” There was silence then a voice came from the darkness. “Did you complete your assignment?” Zack faced the direction of the voice and answered, “Your will has been done.” Suddenly from the darkness comes Xanatos, grabbing Zack by the throat and suspending him in the air. “You’re lying to me slave. I just before you arrived, the commissioner was in a meeting with the Mayor and something tells me the Hunter is still alive. I have but one question to ask you… WHY?!” Xanatos tightened his grip with each word he spoke then threw Zack into several pillars. From the window above comes VH, crashing down while landing a kick to Xanatos’ face. “Keep your hands off my brother!” Xanatos recovered quickly, looked at Zack then to VH. He quickly realized what VH had meant and started laughing. Zack stands up and walks to VH’s side. “Brothers… Your two are brothers? Well isn’t that interesting. Well Hunter it would seem that I have taken it upon myself to annihilate your entire family without even knowing it. Nothing personal you understand.” VH’s fist tightened, “I’ve been taking it personal for years and tonight… I spill your blood.” Xanatos cackled and said, “Boys boys, I feel it’s only fair to warn you that… I can’t die. Of course you don’t believe me but you’ll learn soon enough.” The Vampire Hunter takes aim with his gauntlet cannons and open fires. Xanatos jumps into the air laughing and continues to laugh as he dodges the Aspen wood bullets. VH stops to reload while Zack attacks Xanatos head on. Xanatos catches each punch and deflects each kick that Zack can throw at him. VH comes up from behind and strikes a heavy blow to Xanatos’ spine. Zack throws a punch that shatters Xanatos’ jaw then VH grabs a handful of white hair and slams Xanatos’ face into the floor… several times. Afterwards Zack picks up a heavy pipe and beats Xanatos with it until Xanatos grabs it and uses it to send Zack flying. Xanatos quickly healed before the Vampire Hunter and said, “I must say boys that hurt.” VH pulls out a wooden stake made from an Aspen tree then says, “Allow me to end it.” With all his might he hurls the stake at Xanatos, right into his heart. Zack arrived in time to watch the stake enter the monster’s heart. “YES! You Got Him!!!” Zack cheered. Xanatos cried and wailed in pain then stopped then laughed in a devilish manor. He pulled the stake out with ease and watched the wound heal. “I tried to tell you boys. You can’t kill me like other vampires. I was created by the Prince of Darkness himself, I wasn’t turned like he was… Here! I believe this belongs to you Vampire Hunter!” He throws the stake straight back at VH. Time seemed to freeze as the stake came closer and closer to his heart but it never made it. Suddenly he could see the back of Zack’s head and caught him as he feel. He was startled to see the stake buried into Zack’s heart. “NO!!!” He cried. He took off his helmet to look his brother face to face. Zack looked up at Jack and said, “Do not morn for me… I am free of this curse… Our bond will forever be strong… Not even death can sever it…” Then he was gone. Jack’s heart weighed with great sorrow. A rage built up inside that soon could not be contained. When it could no longer be contained he let out a mighty cry that seemed to shake the very foundations of the warehouse. He looked for Xanatos but he was gone. A few days later we find our hero with his close friends to bury his brother. He was there long after everyone else had left. Zack’s tombstone stood next the tombstones of his mother and father. He shed a tear for each of them and for himself. “I swear to you, this will not go unpunished. I will find a way to defeat Xanatos and when I do… I’ll kill him!”
