Somehow I missed this one earlier. Nice drawing!
I saw John Carter a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. Great action and special effects, but more importantly, it had a great story to go with it. The movie more than lived up to expectations. It was cool to see the character I loved so much as a kid brough to life on the big screen. It's a shame its not doing well at the box office cause I would have loved to have seen a sequel.

I thought it was awesome too. Saw it in Florida while at Disney. Wasn't real familar with the storyline, so the names were odd at first. Other than that it was one of the better movies I've seen, including last summer.

I just saw John Carter today. I don't know why this movie hasn't made more money. I loved it, and even my wife liked it. I liked the Edgar Rice Burroughs angle they threw in. The alien dog was hilarious, as were the green Martians at times. John Carter learning to use his powers was funny, and I love the effects. The ending was great. The movie had heart and action! It wasn't just a bunch of mindless special effects. I bet it winds up being a cult classic. People will eventually discover this movie and will be talking about this one for a long time to come. Maybe someday another John Carter will get made and maybe people will know the character enough to see that one.

Tim- I don't know if you read the books, but the stuff with Edgar Rice Burroughs was actually from the 2nd book and not made up for the film. Its cool that they included that.
Yeah I loved Woola too. I didn't know what I would think about him being made more "cute" than ferocious, but I think it ended up working well. This is what he looked like in the books:
