The police were helpless as Devastator’s rampage weighed on. Killing people as it goes onward. Jim and Sean race towards the city in Sean’s car. “Tell me again why we are doing this.” Sean asked. “I might be able to help Sean… maybe I can move fast for a reason… besides the fact of the accident. Look around us Sean, there are people with gifts like me who are using them to do good. Like that Phantasm or Savage guy. If they can go out and use their gifts to help people then so should I… Stop here.” Sean pulls over to let Jim out. Jim puts his helmet on and begins stretching. “This is nuts Jim. You don’t know what you can do and can’t do… or for how long…” Jim nodded, “Your right but I have to try. I spend so much time alone, trying to find a way to make the world a better place than this happens… I think this is how I am to benefit mankind.” Sean knows its useless now; Jim has made his mind up. The best friends shake hands and with a zooming sound Jim is gone. Jim runs fast but holds back, he needs his energy for the battle ahead. Body count of the dead continues to rise as Devastator kills everyone it sees. The military are have arrived with heavy artillery. Tanks aim at its target and open fires. Devastator is sent flying through the air but no damage is done. Many soldiers are horrified and flee while others stay behind to continue fighting. Devastator attacks and takes out most of the army until it heard a loud zoom! It looked to see a man dressed in red and yellow. “Directive, destroy everyone in the city.” Devastator said out loud. Devastator throws part of a tank at Jim but misses. “Why are you doing this?” Jim asked. “Devastator’s directive is to destroy everyone in the city.” Jim realizes he’s dealing with a robot. Devastator attacks but Jim moves out of the way quickly then begins throwing small pieces of metal so fast like shooting bullets out of a gun. However the small metal bounced off Devastator just as before. “This robot seems indestructible… but there must be a way.” Suddenly an idea comes to Jim. He begins throwing more pieces of metal at Devastator and leads him towards the bay. Once at the bay Jim begins spinning his hands in a circular motion at super speed. Hoping to push Devastator into the water but is instead pushing himself backwards. A general realizes what Jim is trying to do and calls out to him, “You, how long can you keep that thing there?!” Jim grabbed a grenade and quickly placed it by Devastator’s feet, then ran to the General. “How long do you need?” The general told him five minutes, Devastator picked up the grenade then it blew up in its hand. It didn’t phase it at all. “Consider it done General.” Jim said as he zoomed out of sight. Five minutes felt like days as Jim toyed with Devastator, trying hard to keep him in the general area then a large helicopter with a giant magnet swooped down and caught Devastator. Jim found the general and suggested they drop the monstrous robot in the Mariana trench where Devastator will be crushed by the ocean’s pressure. The general gave the order and the helicopter fulfilled its duty and dropped Devastator in the Mariana trench, it could do nothing but sink down into the dark abyss. Reporters and civilians rushed to meet the unknown superhero but Jim was in no mood for this attention and dashed away. No one knew who he was and the question on everyones mind was what his name was then the sound of a child silenced everyone as he said, “Zoom!!! He should be called Zoom because when he runs he makes a zooming sound when he runs.” Everyone loved the idea and in every paper in the city called that mystery superhero Zoom!!!
