here's the creation process straight from the artist via email to me.





Well, the drawing part, took me about two hours without any interreptions. After that, I scanned it, and took a break.
The colouring part, in Photoshop, took me about 4 hours, since I don't have any graphics tablet (I'm looking forward to acquiring a Wacom Graphire). Imagine how difficult it is to paint shadows and lights with the mouse. Well, after I had a nice black and white image which looked right, I coloured it using the Hue/Saturation Controls in colorize mode.
This was about 3.40 hours long. When finished, I started thinking about a good background, which was very simple, yet effective. I used the difference clouds effect and changed the levels a bit. After that, since I wanted a good looking batsignal, I moved into After effects, created a circular mask, blurred a batman begins black logo (previously made in photoshop), and applied the trapcode shine effect, which looks kinda great.
So, for the final work, 6 complete hours.
