This Saturday morning March 08, 2008, saw the premiere of the Spectacular Spider-Man with a full hour long show. Well it was two episodes back to back.

First episode featuring Robert Englund as the Vulture who was out to get Norman Osborne, was a  decent episode, but the second episode featuring the cartoon version of the origin of Electro captured the true spirit of what makes Spider-Man a timeless superhero.

With great power comes great responsibility, and great problems. Spider-Man fights Electro while answering a call from Aunt May on his cell phone. He's the only superhero with a 10 O'clock curfew. Talk about stress.

And then there's Parker dealing with high school life. Here Parker comes to school with more confidence than the previous year of no spider powers, but still things don't seem to want to change in favor of poor Parker. He almost wins over a girl only to have her ditch him for the football players when pressed by her peers. Seems even though she knows he's not a nerd anymore public perception is all that matters.

There was a lot of humor in this episode. I loved every bit of it especially the jabs at Flash. Loved it when he threw the football at Parker in class, only to miss and hit the the teacher. Oops , spider powers do come in handy especially spider sense.
