out of 5 stars, here's how i rate what i've seen so far

bucket list: 2
i would have preffered it to be a lighter buddy flic, but it gets pretty deep and depressing at times

jumper: 2
disappointment of the year, reasonably entertaining but so many holes and tons of untapped potential in the plot

street kings: 2
unused talent and a shaky plot make this one not worth its time and a big mess overall

iron man: 5
original and fun, one of the best of the year

speed racer: 5
also very originla with a better plot than i expected and an art direction like none other

prince caspian: 3
the action did little for me and the story seemd a bit skewed, but if the next flic picks up the standard then i'll give this one another chance

indiana jones 4: 5
filled with classic moments despite a far fetched plot, not as goo as raiders of crusade but still a lot of fun

you don't mess with the zohan: 1
few funny moments in a sea of penis jokes with a perverse old lady loving character, this one was sickening

kung fu panda: 5
with an all-star cast, this one is full of great animation, fun action, and funny dialogue

incredible hulk: 5
ed norton is great as the hulk which is full of great action and character moments

get smart: 4
carell is great alongside hathaway and the overall outcome is a pretty funny spy spoof

wanted: 4
with an in-your face style and mood, this is an action movie sure to entertain for its entire running time

wall.e: 4
though the firt half houe is slow for anyone who saw the trailer, it remains an entertaining satire on the direction the human race is headed, sometimes hilarious, sometimes touching

hancock: 3
with a hilarious first hour, this one heads slightly downhill as an unecessary, though shocking twist makes the rest of the movie feel rushed and unfocused

hellboy 2: 5
though a loose adaptation of the comics, i feel it has captured the spirit and the mood of the comics while giving great action and good humor

dark knight: 5
ledger's joker, nuff said.

mummy 3: 3
definitely a step down form teh first two due to the absence of the main girl and a less inspired plot...jonathan and oconnel make this watchable if you liked the first two

pineapple express: 5
james franco is hilarious!

tropic thunder: 5
black downey is hilarious!

death race: 3
provides what it promises, intense and violent racing action

Superdude you've been watching some movies.

Out of the movies I've seen this summer.

My favorites are somewhat in this order from best to worst.

Indiana Jones
The Hulk
Iron Man
Dark Knight
Hancock
Wanted

I guess I haven't seen nearly as many movies as I thought I did.

I'll be probably buying Narnia and the Mummy on DVD. Might wait for the Mummy to land in the cheaper section first. I'm becoming more patient in my old age.

I'll probably buy the Hulk, Indy 4, Iron Man, Batman, Mummy 3, Hellboy 2, Kung fu Panda and Caspian on dvd, the rest I'll probably pass on. I don't know though, I may try out Jumper or Speed Racer if they get real cheap.

Jumper I saw on DVD. Forgot about that one. It's ok. Just wasn't that crazy about the ending.

dude, i'm telling you, speed racer is great entertainment.  it's like a cartoon come to life with a good story too.  i was shocked, it's one of my top movies of the year.

and i forgot another one of my fave's of the year, a beak from mainstream fast-paced movies,

in bruges: 5
a hilarious and dark story of two hitmen hiding out in bruges.  colin farrel is brilliant.

Iron Man, Batman: Dark Night and The Hulk 2 are the best superhero movies ever made. They are all in 2008. wow!
Posted:  04 Sep 2008 03:42
I don't know about the best ever...Spider-Man 2 may take the cake on that one.
Posted:  06 Sep 2008 03:21
yeah, i agree completely here with rick, spidey 2 can't go umentioned is a best superhero movie list.
and it's not hulk 2, they rebooted the franchise, washed their hand of ang lee's mess.

star wars clone wars: 2
should've stayed on tv like originally intended, could've been decent for tv.  but on the big screen, wooden voice performances, unintended laughs (lots of them), boxy action, and an overall pointless plotm, and goofy droids? make this a lame mess worth skipping. if i hadn't laughed so hard at the bad acting or terrible script (and occasionaly the goofy droids, although who knows when DROIDS got personalities) then it would be a 1.

bangkok dangerous: 4
slightly slow with some grainy and dark camera work and action that occasionally pleases, however, i thought there was some great moments and a shocking ending where i expected more formulaic proceedings.  if you're a fan of nick cage, hitman movies, and are open to asian cinema (cage is the only white guy in the movie, it's a remake of an asian film) then you'll like this.

babylon a.d.: 3
mildly entertaining if you're a diesel fan.  the problem comes some with mediocre action, but mainly due to the last have hour having more holes than camp green lake ("holes" movie reference) it winds up as forgettable.  the director said twentieth century fox cut out tons to the point where vin diesel asked if he was still in the film.  the last ahlf hour shoul have been the last hour.  it was like you'd fallen asleep or gone to the bathroom and come back to find a random new scene that can only hint at what's happening in the film.  90 minutes is never a good thing unless it's a light comedy, so for a sci-fi epic it basically spells doom.  why couldn't they leave it a little longer?  who knows.  if i recall correctly a certain 150 min. movie about a guy in batsuit made over $500million domestically this year, so what's the problem with a little length?  why do i give it a 3?  i dunno, i still found it to be a pretty entertaining 90 min.

I definitely see a director's cut coming from Babylon AD. I wonder if the controversy over the cutting was a stunt to try and create some kind of cult hit on DVD with a full version then?

Jumper is a great movie 4 out of 5.

Hellboy was great.

I saw Star Wars the Clone Wars, that movie is a 0 out of 5, it sucked. Basiclly ruined the great series of Episdoes 1-6. And you can tell that some parts they tried to funny, and it just blew it.

Well, all I know, read this:
DO NOT SEE OR BUY DIRECTORS CUT OF RAMBO 4.
So bloody it actually make you kinda barf.
It's worst than Dawn of the Dead and Hills have Eyes put together.

Speaking of Rambo, Jumper was 2007, Rambo was 08, you forgot Rambo.
Rambo: 4 out of 5. Taking out 1 star out off all the terrible, sad, brutal, graphic, scenes.

Right I forgot about Rambo too. It was good, but I could have done without all the blood and gore. If it weren't for that I would have bought the dvd instead of just renting it. I own all the other Rambo movies on DVDs.

Lucky, I see it on T.V. or rent it, I haven't got to buying all 4.
Stallone also realsed information about Rocky and Rambo, He said, there has been 5 Rocky, four Rambo, Rambo and Rocky are my most known charactors, I might realese another Rambo, to catch up with Rocky.
Those weren't the exact words but close enough.

punisher guy, jumper was 08.  and i didn't see rambo because stallone is ancient and he basically said it was just violence for violence's sake.
quit using quotes everyone!  you're junking up the page.  it's easier to just scroll up and see what they're referring to.
