Quote:

With the 20th Century Fox lawsuit against Warner Bros. over Zack Snyder's Watchmen still unresolved, the Los Angeles Times' "Hero Complex" blog recently interviewed comic creator and author Alan Moore and got his opinion on the movie that many have felt might finally get one of Moore's stories right. Moore apparently hasn't had his opinion about Hollywood swayed or changed, because he isn't just against the adaption of his graphic novel finally coming to the big screen, but seemingly against movies in general.

In the interview, Moore says that he finds "film in its modern form to be quite bullying," and as far as the much-publicized lawsuit, Moore seems to be thrilled about the legal problems surrounding the film which is due out on March 6, 2009, two months after the trial date that's been set for the case. "Will the film even be coming out? There are these legal problems now, which I find wonderfully ironic. Perhaps it's been cursed from afar, from England, and I can tell you that I will also be spitting venom all over it for months to come."

Then again, Moore has never watched any of the film adaptations of his books, and Zack Snyder probably shouldn't feel too bad that Moore isn't positive or supportive of the hard work he's been putting into making Watchmen faithful to Moore's original work.

Can somebody please tell me how somebody can be so high and mighty they want even watch movies based on their own work? I'd be the happiest man on the planet if somebody made a movie based on one of my comic book characters. I'd be dancing in the aisles

That does seem pretty messed up, Man I would be pretty excited to see the Midnight Avenger on the big screen!

Yeah, I wonder how long it takes before a big time writer gets to where nothing excites them anymore? It's like they must forget what it was like to hope and dream of making it big someday.

for all of his definitive stories on many of my fvaorite characters, and even ones he's created, the dude is an overall @$$.  i'd still love to meet him though.
i remeber when he cried about v for vendetta, in fact i heard that on this forum.
kevin smith (who saw an early cut of watchmen) said, iron man and dark knight raised the bar for superhero movies, and that watchmen raises it even further.  that's about as good a compliment as any movie can get at this point.
lest we forget spidey 2?

I'd like to meet him too. I'm sure a conversation with Alan Moore would be one a person would never forget. I wonder if he's very friendly to the general public?

don't bet on it, at least not fans anyway, though i'm sure he's nice to his neighbors, call me weird for this assumption, but i've read accounts of him where he's been nice, i think he just appreciates his privacy and is adament about his unique visions.  it seems like everything he touches is shockingly original.  we'll just call him "eccentric."
