It is awesome. I would love to find out how Wolverine finds himself in the Star Wars universe. That would be a cool story.

Only problem is if he got his head cut off, I don't think he could regenerate or if he got atomized like old Ben Kenobi from Darth Vaders light saber.

[smirk] I think wolverine's claws are safe from the effects of a lightsaber, but who knows it would depend on the writer I guess.
Posted:  05 Apr 2006 15:42
wait, adamantanium can be melted if heated hot enough and long enough, so a lightsaber may actually slice through it like butter!
but then wolverine would get mad and slice you up with his other claws

Look this site is about comic books not controversy. We are not even here to argue about junk like that. Can't have fun when everybody is arguing so don't get all upset.

I'm sorry but I do need to clerify a little something for everyone out there who thinks adamantium is your standared metal that can simply be heated, melted, and thus a lightsaber can cut through it like butter.  That is a MAJOR NO.  Here's exact information on the substance:

Adamantium is a virtually indestructible man-made steel alloy which does not occur in nature and whose exact chemical composition is a United States government classified secret. Adamantium is not an element: its properties do not qualify it for any known space on the Periodic Table of Elements. Rather, Adamantium is a series of closely related compounds of iron created through a secret process discovered by the American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain.  True Adamantium is nearly as strong as Captain America's shield, and is, for all practical purpose, indestructible. The degree of impermeability varies directly with the thickness of the Adamantium. A direct blow from Thor's hammer, conveyed with the thunder god's full strength, will slightly dent a solid cylinder of True Adamantium. A sufficient mass of Adamantium could survive a direct hit from a nuclear weapon.  Adamantium is created through the mixing of certain chemical resins whose composition is a United States government secret. For eight minutes after the resins are mixed, the Adamantium can be molded into a particular shape as long as it is kept at a temperature of 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit. After this brief period the process of creating Adamantium is completed. The extremely stable molecular structure of the Adamantium prevents it from being molded further, even if the temperature remains high enough to keep it in liquefied form. Only a device celled a Molecular Rearranger can alter the form of hardened Adamantium.

Am I saying that a lightsaber can't cut through Adamantium?  No.  What I am saying is that taking the facts listed above, if it does cut through, it's going to take some time, a lot of effort, and a lot of physical force - if it's possible.  Just something to think about.

thank you for clearing that

Cool, the Watcher sounds like an expert. That's what we need around here. I've been reading comics all my life and I didn't know that about adamantium. I knew is tough but not exactly how tough.

Here's a good question. Can Wolverine cut Superman? Hugh Jackman seems to think so. In a recent interview he said he thought Wolverine should cut Superman's pretty face all up.

Sure with kryptonite you can cut supes with a butter knife, but what about in normal circumstances?
Enquiring minds want to know!

Ok, I know that in the Star Wars universe there is a metal or process (I forget which exactly, unlike the other guy I'm no expert) that makes it impervious to lightsabers. Like a mirror reflecting light or something. Could this possibly be the case with adamantium? Or could our favorite Wolvie have gotten this process done to his metelloid skeleton structure? Look at his claws in the pic. Probably it's just the artists idea on it, but his claws don't look smooth and clean cut as always. Instead they look more rugged and jagged. Perhaps from some tampering? I figure with the technological advances that are further in Star Wars than in X-Men they could find a way to do this. If so, even Darth Maul would have a time at killin Wolvie when he can't cut Wolvie into little pieces. Tough to say who I want to win tho, they both rule in my book.

One other thing, Ben Kenobi didn't atomize when Darth Vader struck him!! Ben became one with the force before Vader even struck him. I promise you! Go back and watch the video again and see how Vader searches the clothes after Ben disappears? It's because he wants to know if the old man is really gone. A master of the lightsaber wouldn't do this if people could atomize at a lightsabers touch, he'd just go on with life. ;D

I think they are the claws he had after Magneto removed the adamantium from his body. At that point his claws appeared as plain bones.

Still, the possibility remains that his adamantium could be altered in the Star Wars universe.

I guess you're right. Anything is possible.

Did you ever read the Star Trek X-men team up that came out some time in the 1990's I think? There were two Dr. McCoys.
