Scott Bakula to Quantum Leap to Chuck
Bakula will be on Chuck for at least 3 episodes playing Chuck's father. It's a nerd's dream.
"They haven't seen each other for a long time," producer Josh Schwartz says of Papa Bartowski (Bakula). "His dad is a little bit of an eccentric. He's a sweet man, but has been off the reservation for a while. Chuck promised Ellie he would find him for the wedding, and when he finds him, he may not actually want to be found."
When asked if he will write this season's finale as a series finale, Schwartz replies: "Call me a guy in denial, but we're not going down without a fight. These episodes are going to dramatically change the show. We're putting it all out there. We're doing crazy, crazy stuff, and we're actually breaking the season finale right now, and it's going to be a really fun ride."
Here's the first trailer for the 3D episode of Chuck Season 2 Episode 12: "Chuck Vs. The Third Dimension". This episode airs on February 2nd, 2009.

Bakula probably won't show for another couple of episodes though, but 3D Chuck is going to be fun as usual.
I used to love to watch Quantum Leap too. That show had the right blend of sci-fi and great story telling.

I just bought the first season of Chuck on dvd on the 7th of the month but its taking forever to get here. Its real frustrating. I would buy Quantum Leap too if it were cheaper.

At least some of the seasons of Quantum Leap don't have the original music which frustrates me. I'd probably own them all, if it weren't for that. Right now I've just got the season where he goes home to when he was a kid, and the episode where he saves his brother in vietnam. That episode is kind of messed up because they took out the original music.
Maybe they'll re-release them on Blu-ray some day with everything in tact. And of course maybe some day I'll own a Blu-ray so I can watch them.
