Review's for anybody who cares about my opinions really, but Nate asked.

I finally finished watching the movie today and have to say the first one was better in my opinion.

I guess my problem was that it was a little bit too gorey, is that a word?, in the first ten minutes, maybe less, there was a decapitation and a lot of blood. Reminded me of zombie movies. So if you are into those movies then this is probably right up your alley.

Almost everytime someone died it was along the same line, very violent, very bloody. What happened to good ole action flicks where people were simply shot and fell, no blood, no mess?

The story was pretty good though I thought. It didn't follow the first one for his origins though. And they changed him this time from an undercover agent to special forces. Though if I remember right it was mentioned in the first one that he was former special forces as well.

Without giving too much of the story away, they brought in the character of Microchip to act as the Punisher's arms dealer in this one as well as a couple of cops who either let him escape them b/c they believed in what he was doing or helped him in other ways.

Near the beginning of the movie the Punisher makes a mistake and thinks about quitting. Microchip convinces him to go after Jigsaw instead which leads him to help out a mother and her daughter who were being threatened by the gangster.

The movie even had a couple of softer moments between the Punisher and the little girl. Showing that he's not just a cold hearted killer, that there is a little bit of a sensitive side deep down underneath his bullet proof vest.

All in all I give it a 7 out of 10 for the plot, mainly loosing the few points for all the gore involved.

If you are a Punisher fan by all means see this movie just be prepared going in for all the blood you'll see, and even a really gross part with Jigsaw's brother as he is escaping the asylum he's been kept in.

Hope this helps all of you on the fence about whether or not to watch it.

Well that leaves me out. Has to be a really good movie to get me to watch blood and guts. The worst I think I've ever seen an liked was Rambo 4. Still not rushing to watch it again.

true, rambo 4 was a bit excessive too. That was really the only thing I had against this movie. I think if it was only to the extreme of the first punisher movie than it would've been great. There were just too many sick parts for me.
