I am currently reading the HULK series with the DEFENDERS vs OFFENDERS story line and noticed that Dr. Strange has a blue hood on. I usually don't follow Dr. Strange titles but have always liked the character. I'm wondering if anyone knows why he's wearing this hood. Thanks!

Wish I knew. Maybe somebody is up with that particular story line.

Something from Secret Invasion not really sure though, all Iknow is that is not Stephen Strange under the hood. __________________ Hindsight is always 20/20... But looking back it's still abit fuzzy. Dave Mustaine

I've been reading the Hulk series as well and it is a Dr Strange from some years back I think there was a period where he wore the blue costume with the hood. Don't remember why though. But the costume is also one of his alternate costumes in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. __________________ HeavyInk

After further investigation, I have found that back in the early 70's Dr. Strange underwent a transformation of sorts when he was given a more superhero like costume along with a secret identity(Stephen Sanders). This was done during a time when the comics that Dr. Strange was appearing in were experiencing low sales. The costume and secret identity were meant to boost sales. Apparently it didn't work, for shortly after all of this the title was canceled. The Dr. Strange appearing in the current HULK title is this 70's Strange pulled out of the timestream.
