Hey guys,

I thought about creating a Midnight Avenger Comics Facebook page just because the site is so big I was hoping maybe someone important would notice my characters.

Anyway in order to do that I'll need to post pics of my characters that you guys have created so I wanted permission to display your artwork, of course giving you credit for your individual artwork.

Off the top of my head that would include Trickstyx, Wayne Clayton,Bono Fett, and Tim Frady for various works of my characters. I don't think I'm missing anyone but if I am please let me know.

And any of your characters that are in said pics I will credit to you as well so maybe that would help you guys get exposure as well?

Anyway not a 100% that I'm going to do it but I thought about it.

Sounds like a great idea, make sure you link back to superherouniverse.com. More promotion is good for everybody.

Sounds ok to me.

I was looking on facebook to see how to go about this and there isn't really category for this type of thing.

You can either make your own personal page or you can do one for a business, celebrity etc. etc. but the closest ones I can find for this is under Writer, Visual Artist, or Website.

I think Website would work for Tim if he wanted to do one for Superherouniverse.com but I wouldn't do one just for my little corner of the universe.

What do you guys think? Anyone else use facebook that might have some suggestions?

My wife uses facebook to keep in touch with the family which is why I was thinking of making one on there.

And before anyone suggests Myspace let me say we try and stayaway from Myspace due to past issues we've had.

This might me tougher than I thought to make a facebook page.

My wife has a facebook page, but I've never messed with it. I did a myspace page a long time ago, but I can't really say if it helped get traffic or anything.

Funny how myspace is big, and then next year it's facebook. I wonder what will be big next year?

Im hearing a lot about this thing called twitter. I wondered if that was the next big thing. Its always something. I'm really not into all that kind of stuff.

I hear a lot about twitter too, but have not twitted yet.

I've been working on a new site. http://gofamilysearch.com/

Tell me what you all think. I'm trying to put together a family safe search engine. Won't have millions and millions of pages but maybe if I'm lucky I can satisfy most searches in the area of family like kids stuff, all my sites of course, health, and so forth. Do a few searches and let me know.

I tried a few random yet simple searches just to see but I didn't come up with much. But I figure in time you can get this site to rolling. I looked for "George Bush" and came up with Superman. Thought that was kinda funny. But I know some people who may be interested in a site like this, I'll email the link and pass it on.

oh I searched George Bush to see what you meant. Yeah, that was a GB parody mixing Superman and Bush. I need a news site to index that's family friendly. I'm not sure they have any like that though. Might have to index a few wikipedia pages, but i'm looking for a super family friendly kind of encyclopedia to index too for historical types, Presidents and the like.

Main thing I can say for sure right now is no matter what you look  for at gofamilysearch.com. You won't find any porno.

Darn the luck

j/k Tim, there aren't enough family friendly searches out there because all it takes is for your kids to change the filter settings to allow the bad stuff and then there you go its everywhere!!!

Glad to see you working on the friendly version. I'll have to try it out on a few searches myself and see what comes up.

One thing I don't like about yahoo and google and all those other search engines is because they seem politically biased. When I wrote as a conservative columnist for my local paper, I had to do a lot of research, and whenever I tried searching for a particular subject on one of those search engines, I almost always came up with the liberal side of the matter. I remember searching for something about John McCain, and typed in "John McCain war hero". I came up with all kinds of crap saying he wasn't a real war hero. It would be awesome if you could create a search engine without that political bias.

Just a thought, couldn't you use your reallypolitical site, some of that information would be good to show up on the search engine. The articles are usually posted there with sources, and there is discussion containing both sides of the argument.

Yeah, but there's some major cussing on the political board.  I don't want the serious grownup controversial discussions in the mix either if I can help it.

I want it as safe as possible for kids. pg-13 or better

That's my gimmick.

right now im indexing a national geographic site for kids
Posted:  11 Jun 2009 18:20
Oh okay I undestand. Good idea. Yeah there's a couple of guys on there with some nasty mouths. Speaking of that site, it hasn't gotten much activity lately.
Posted:  11 Jun 2009 18:47
I haven't been much in the mood to think about politics lately. I think it stresses me out. Politics almost seems like a no win situation these days. You can't win, and it causes wrinkles and other signs of premature aging.

Midnight? Your name is Robert Butler right? A creepy thing is, that a guy on facebook has your name and wants to be friend with me...

It was me Nate, didn't mean to freak you out. Wayne and Ohm should've gotten one as well so disregard everybody. I was just toying around with it making a personal page to get the hang of it before creating my MAC page. but I deactivated the account for now. I will probably reactivate it soon once I get things straightened out. Then hopefully you'll accept the invite?

Ah I thought it was you. But you vanished (even though it still kept saying I had a new friends request.

Oh something I learned when putting a link up. It will somehow recognise jpg's from the page you link to so you can cycle through all images appearing on the title page. Starting with Tim's Deadlaw icon through to the gallery images on at that moment.
Posted:  11 Jun 2009 22:10
What was it Wayne? Are you talking about something on the gallery?
Posted:  11 Jun 2009 23:53
On Facebook I made a link to here and was surprised that it suddenly had a thumbnail of Timerider next to it.Then I realised that you could cycle through all the jpg images starting off with Timerider then Deadlaw then the Star Trek poster then onto the thumbnails of the gallery automatically without leaving Facebook.

My profile is back up on facebook, I see wayne accepted the invite, so it'll stay up now so if you want Nate go ahead an except if you would.
