Haven't got to see it yet, may go tomorrow, but if you've seen it or just want to talk about it, here's the place to do it.

Here's what's happening in the news for Transformers Dark of the Moon.

Distributor Paramount Pictures said Sunday that "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" took in $97.4 million domestically in its first weekend. That beat the $90.2 million debut of Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

But the domestic haul for the sci-fi sequel was down from the $127.9 million first weekend for 2009's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

I've not seen it yet but I have seen a review. In the review the reviewer just bangs his head against the wall over and over with a metallic ring. He did the same with review of Transformers 2 but this time it was in 3D.

Saw it yesterday.

Biggest thing, it was very loud. I think I lost some of my hearing. Stupid stupid theaters keep turning up the volume. Hey I don't need my teeth to rattle to enjoy a movie. I don't want to have to wear a hearing aid in the next five years. If this keeps up I may start skipping movies till they come on DVD.

As far as the movie itself. I enjoyed it. It was not boring that's for sure.

I kind of wish we saw things more from the perspective of the main character Sam. It would make it easier to get into what was happening. Shia LaBeouf as Sam was the best character in the movie. He had a lot of funny moments.

The best action scene was when Sam has a wreck of some sort and Bumble Bee re integrates in mid air and catches a screaming girly Sam before he hits the ground. That was fun.

Optimus Prime's voice done by Peter Cullen could make almost anything sound inspirational. He's just got that kind of voice. Hearing him makes you feel like it's the patriotic 80's again, and Ronald Reagan is about to pop up somewhere. I sure hope that Captain America doesn't fail to inspire me. I'd hate to think a movie about giant robots made me feel more patriotic toward my country than a movie entitled Captain America. I just hope I can still hear when I go see Cap's movie. I may wear ear plugs to balance it out.

Don't let nobody kid you, the new girl Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was a much better actress than Megan Fox. I think she did a great job.

The only other actor that really stood out to me was Tyrese Gibson. He seemed to be really feeling the moment like he was really there in the action.

Only negative really is it seems a lot like I've seen all of it before, and there were a few slow spots here and there but by the time I started to notice it revved up again.

The building falling scene was really good too. That was definitely cool, but not as fun as the Bumble Bee wreck and save Sam in mid air scene.

Sidenote: Weird thing my sisters claimed that my dad went to school with Megan Fox's mom who apparently lived in TN for a bit. Small world. Wiki states that Megan was born in  Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

My dad doesn't even know what she's played in but somehow they made the connection using a old year book or something. He seemed very familiar with Fox's mom just not the actress herself.

So anybody else see it this weekend?

I thought it was good. It was probably my favorite of the Transformers franchise, but even so it still fell short of Thor, who still reigns supreme of this summer's movies.

I agree with Tim, I not only liked the new girl's acting better, I think her character was a lot more likable too.

Man that last hour of the movie was nothing but action. It was really great. I loved the fight at the end with Optimus, Sentinel, and Megatron.

The falling building scene was pretty cool, as was the scene where Sam shot that hook into that one Decepticon's eye.

You know I was not expecting Leonard Nimoy to be in this movie. I thought I had read somewhere that he was going to retire after appearing as William Bell on Fringe in Season 2.

Yeah, he said he was retired, but I guess he changed his mind. Of course it's probably not as hard to do a voice than the actually appear on camera.

Did you catch the famous Star Trek line Nimoy used?

He says in Star Trek 2 as he is dying as Spock, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".

In Transformers he says it, but in a totally different context.
