Hey Superdude here's my character I was talking about. Not everything I envisioned but it's a start.
Here's the plot so far. He's a WW 2 pilot who gets swept away by unknown beings during a dogfight in the air. These individuals recruit him to chase after a villain they helped by accident to travel through time, thus putting history itself in jeopardy.
He's been given super strength and vast array of weaponary he can call upon. Well that's what I've got so far today. I've got a lot of story ideas and plot twists that I wouldn't want to give away or the stories wouldn't be interesting. That is if I can put it down in a format that's readable and entertaining.

yeah, it's me. It was easier to pose for a camera and then photshop it, than to look for a picture. The background I just found on a image search and then I added the boat and the flying car.
I'm glad you think it's cool. There for a little while I didn't think I was going to be able to make anything that looked presentable. I guess I need to work on seeing if I can draw it now.

Here's a page I just finished. It's a start of the origin of Time Runner. Hey guys important question. Do you think "Time Runner" or "Time Rider" sounds better. The name just hit me. Seems to roll off the tounge a little easier, but I'm not sure.

Considering either Time Rider or Time Runner a abbreviation would be hard to come up with, at least at the moment. Boy the creation process is kind of hard. I'm thinking if I can get one page done a day, I can have a full comic book in a month if I'm lucky.
Any suggestions on how to make this idea successful?
I'm constantly thinking of ideas half of which I'm going to forget to use before I can get it down on paper. I might have to break down and start writing it before I can actually get down to comic book form.
I already forgot to add the dogfight scenario. I got off on another track.

take notes when you come up with ideas. carry a notebook, thaz what alotta writers do. and whatever the name of your hero is. they can call him that. like tim for instance. and is time runner like his profession to a point, like he's hired, or is it like his unique name?!
maybe a realistic superhero that doesn't always win, but eventually finds a way you know. and i find that one of the hardest parts of comic drawing is paneling, while still communicating the story line.
anmd uing a fine point uniball pen over your drawing keeps the detail, and still dresses them up nicely. that's my way atleast. ofcourse, i've only used it once. __________________"You...complete me."

wow tim you rock u are actually going through with this that is more than i can say about myself. all the characters i come up with are not very original. a tip from would be if you send in drawings to marvel they want actual page to page cotinuity so if your an artist that is my best advice.

I tried drawing today and I stink. I'm going back to using adobe instead of drawing it outright. I hope to give it more of a drawn comic book look than what I've done already.
Time Runner basically feels like he has no choice but to go after the bad guy because he can never go home until he catches him.
His characterization is that of a WW2 vet with the perspective that America is right. Good is good. Evil is evil, with very little grey in between. He's not confused like most modern heroes at least not about basic good and evil, on the surface anyway.
He shoots bad guys, but he doesn't feel like an outsider for it like say the Punisher who is portrayed as a very dark kind of guy. I want the character to be light hearted. Imagine Indiana Jones with powers and high tech weapons. A guy comes at him with a sword he shoots him, no problem. After all he just came out of a war. He doesn't have the feeling that since he has powers he's got to give the bad guys every chance to give up, but at the same time I want him to be the kind of character that considers taking a life a serious matter. The way I imagine someone from that era would feel.
I think the biggest difference I want to make with my character is he's not a dark brooding character, he's got a sense of humor, but those of a modern frame of mind might consider him dark just because of the way he takes out the bad guys so quickly. Of course I'm not talking about taking out bad guys just because they steal a purse. He shoots in self defense. It's just that your average bad guy doesn't really stand a chance against him. I want to mix it up between non-superpowered crooks and super powered types along the way.
Well back to the drawing board tomorrow. Didn't make a page today.

i was just gonna compare him to indiana jones
i advise you stick to writing the first couple issues and plotlines, and then worry about drawing, if you try to do both, you'll detract from the story.
so far though it seems original enough to make it.
and i like the company idea, maybe someday. and the way the net is growing, i wouldn't be too surprised to hear about poeple running a comic company online, and printing at some printing press near one of them. __________________"You...complete me."

I think I will do that. I'll get a complete story down first and then worry about illustrating it. I think I want to work on a couple of designs too and get that out of the way.
