Watch LA Times' Geoff Boucher as he sat down at San Diego Comic-Con International 2012 with legendary comics artist Neal Adams to discuss his famous giant sized comic story, Superman vs. Muhammad Ali.
I found a lot of interesting things in this interview among them the fact that DC had to get permission from all of the actors presented on the cover for their likenesses to appear. Also thought it was interesting that John Wayne and the Kojak actor Telly Savalas turned them down. Neal Adams had already drawn the two actors so Wayne got a mustache, and Savalas became Lex Luthor.
Interesting also because I bet mags like Mad Magazine being a parody book never did or do have to get permission to use the likeness of actors in their books. Oh, and then also very cool was the fact that Superman stars Kirk Alyn and actress Noel Neill were on the cover. For a whole list of the stars on the cover and more on the book, Superman vs Ali.
