i plan on posting an awesome cover once a week. any cover. EVER.
this week's cover:
http://hallofheroes.free.fr/Images/Covers/batman_killingjoke.jpg
Batamn: The Killing Joke (Brian Bolland)

You look at this cover and want to read it. Simple as that.  Joker in as classic form as ever, this is the epittimy of what he should look like.  His words are simple, and yet make it all that much better.  SMILE.  It hints to the interior content and somehow makes him that much sicker.  He's got his traditional smile, and yet he looks more evil than ever.  This is truly a dark, colorful classic and the story inside only precedes that.
RATING: 9.4

i've changed it to an awesome cover a DAY!!!
today's cover:
http://www.mrlcomics.com/daredevil_vol2_covers/daredevil_vol2_cover_071.jpg

Daredevil volume 2 #71

The brilliant red starts by catching your eye, then you see the silhoutte of this dark figure with two glaring red "D"'s on his chest. That along with I AM YOUR GOD layed over the top and you've got a simple, and yet amazingly awesome cover.  "I AM YOUR GOD," refers to the story arc this book begins following the ten commandments.  Not much more to say, but anyone who can say this isnt awesome, is weird.

What's up with Daredevil lately? I think I read Matt Murdock wasn't Daredevil anymore. I haven't picked up a DD book in a while.
Posted:  10 Aug 2006 19:10
last i knew he was being accused of being dd and denying it for obvious reasons. but he's still matt in civil war.

today's cover:
http://www.cnv.co.il/pics/previews/marvel/2006/apr/large/SENSATSPMAN_027_COV.jpg
sensational spider-man #27

It's nice to take abreak fom all those civil war tie-ins and have a good ol book about spidey fighting monsters.  This cover was bright and fresh and has an awesome look at spidey's new suit along with two cats that have been in the shadows as of recent.  Overall it's bright and cherry whikle all ohter comics at this time are sad (though awesome) civil war covers.

great action cover! How many books does Spiderman have right now?

Comic book art just keeps getting better and better probably thanks to the aid of computer software. I wonder what type of software they use.

i missed a dy so today i've got two awesome covers. the 1st one:
http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/news/images/0605/HULK95.jpg
Incredible Hulk (vol. 2) #95
Hulk about to smash the Silver Surfer in a Gladiator setting. NUFF' SAID!!!
RATING: 8.8

cover 2:
http://cubertoy.free.fr/Morbius2-2.jpg
Ultimate Spider-man #96
"U" covers have always been different due to the bars on the side which classify them as Ultimate titles.  This one has an almost comic (as in funny) looking spider-man as he stares out of Morbiu's mouth which plainly put in perspective his situation.  And the dull green bars on the side make it that much better.
RATING: 7.8

Cool I've got that Hulk comic. The Hulk is a little more cool lately with all the fighting but I still miss the old Hulk Smash. Why does the Hulk speak such good English now that he's green again? He looks like the old Hulk but talks really I guess like the original Hulk of the 1960's if I wanted to be technical. Still I like the 70's & early 80's Hulk best.
Posted:  14 Aug 2006 10:51
i think since he's permanently hulk in planet hulk he can talk better. i liked the issue better than i would've thought.  oh, and there are six spider-man titles currently NOT counting new avengers or civil war.
sensational
amazing
loves mj
ultimate
spidergirl
marvel adventure

How many of those are in the current Spiderman continuity?

Ultimate I know is out

marvel adventure.. isn't that like an animated or kids version of Spidey?

Spidergirl is in the future

What about loves MJ?

That leaves only 2 for sure that follow an official Spiderman reality. That's kind of wierd when you think about it.

I thought there was one more but I can't remember what it is.
Posted:  14 Aug 2006 22:00
thats all on the current subcribing list.  and my bet is spidey loves mj is not in continuity because spidey married to mj. kinda ruins the point of a comic about pete's love life. marvel adventure is fro kids so i'd bet it's like the ultimate "U" and started from scratch.

today's cover:
http://www.rolandit.com/comics/covers/9056-large.jpg
Batman: Black and White #3
This cover not only brings an awesome batman with a detective look(something often lost) and gleaming red blood on his glove.  Simple and clean, and totally awesome.  Not like Sin City's ink heavy pages, or even dark, and yet it's a cover that would remind you of batman's dark gritty side, hile perserving his intelligent detective side.  This sums up Batman with a simple cover that catches the eye because of it's total bright whiteness.  Imagine sin city's colors inverted and you get this.

Very interesting. Batman looks a little like Clint Eastwood with the unshaven look there.
Posted:  15 Aug 2006 20:28

I wonder why anyone wouldn't like Batman sounding like Clint Eastwood. Clint's the baddest dude in history.

Awesome, I love old comic books. Seems like the old Batman's are harder to get.

That art looks familiar. I'm trying to think who it is. Looks like the same artist that did the 1970's Green Lantern/Green Arrow books. Oh yeah, is it Neal Adams?

Hey if you want it might be better to upload the covers into the gallery too just in case the websites they come from take them down. That might leave the page with pictures that don't work. I'd hate for pics to stop showing up. I like the idea of posting the best covers. It's like finding a cool comic at a convention you didn't know about.

yeah, i might, but my time will go down the toilet once school starts again.

Very tough, looks like maybe a painted cover using a model. That's the way Alex Ross does it.
Posted:  01 Oct 2006 15:09
yeah, the guys name is... i forgot, but he did some punisher movie posters and all of the comic covers pretty much. if u've got the punisher dvd there's a special feature where he talks about his work.

i just read this issue of daredevil where he brakes out of this ancient prison and somewhere along his shirt gets ripped off and he beats the crap out of the italian bad guys that dressed funny. mazzuchelli (batman year one) pencilled it and it was coool. especially for a comic with thought bubbles

Are thought bubbles out? That's what makes a comic unique to TV or movies.
Posted:  05 Oct 2006 23:52
when's the last time you read a modern comic? they use little mind boxes now and they don't really narrarate what they're going to do next.
