Yes and no, in terms of serious drama no, but in terms of likeability yes.
I mean he was the first Batman, and he created a campy fun Batman. It's hard to even compare his Batman to the other actors who tried to make Batman more serious.
Christian Bale gets my vote for the best serious Batman, but you know the little kid in me would rather get Adam West's autograph.

christian bale is AWESOME. yeah, frank miller's dark knight returns is known partly for getting rid of the campy feeling that adam gave batman. what do they mean by campy exactly? __________________

The best I can figure is, campy means something like being trendy without substance.
Still Adam West's performance was brilliant in it's uniqueness campy or not.

well, adam's batman had its place in making batman and its characters known, dark knight returns used that publicity and attracted mnore bat fans. __________________

I like both types of Batman. I think the dark Batman makes for better reading in comics I guess.

I like the "Holy Rusted Metal" line in Batman 3 when Robin says it and then remarks that him and Batman are actually standing on metal that is very holey and rusted. Batman gives him a wierd look.
