In the second part of Time-Rider Project Victory, I'm currently working on inserting a guest star. It's one of my favorite characters from DC comics.  It's just a little cameo that you have to look carefully to see because it's not evident until the last panel that I've put the character in.

Hint: He doesn't have any super powers.

Any guesses who it might be.

The story should be on the site in a few days hopefully maybe less.

So who would you want to see guest star in Time-Rider? Public domain characters preferred of course.

public domain?!? i always like a charcter guest starring in an issue where you know who it is, but it's not verified, to make fun. like this one cover where the thing is changed up and you see batmans shadow on the wall hes chained to and the thing syas, "no, not you, it can't be you!" (batman didn't appear in the comic, i'm pretty sure) it made #100 on the wizard magazine's list of best 100 covers EVER!!!

here's the article

100. MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #91 (1982)

It didn’t matter that Marvel didn’t own Batman. Rather, that was the beauty of this double-take by Ron Wilson. Marvel capitalized on comics’ most recognizable character in comics, even if it’s a shadow. "Clearly a Mark Gruenwald idea, if only for his mischievous crossing of the Marvel Universe with DC’s!" says DC V.P. Mike Carlin, who was then assisting editor Gruenwald.

I wonder who it was? Just my luck I've got a bunch of Marvel Two in ones but not that one.

On the public domain thing there's like characters that are no longer copyrighted. According to wikipedia Tarzan, Zorro, and Conan are like that, but I'm little hesitant to trust that.

I know like Robin Hood, 3 Musketeers, etc are public domain. Their like ancient.

I'm thinking of creating a new superhero team using public domain characters like Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Well technically I guess my idea is sort of been done in a way, thing is my twist is to have them in modern times. Like can you imagine Tarzan running around these days doing that "Me Tarzan" bit. Maybe he could say stuff like Tarzan Smash.

I figure Time-Rider is going to have something to do with these time lost heroes.

It could be kind of like the Avengers or the JLA but instead of Green Arrow or Hawkeye I use the one that started it all, Robin Hood for example and Zorro could be Batman that is if Zorro is really public domain. I've read he is but I'm not sure how to verify that for sure.

He's listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Public_domain_characters as public domain but then there's this like official website called Zorro.com that seems to think they own the copyright.

He was created by pulp writer Johnston McCulley, and first made his appearance in The Curse of Capistrano, serialized in the pulp magazine All-Story Weekly in 1919.

According to wiki

The work was created and first published before January 1, 1923, or at least 95 years before January 1 of the current year, whichever is later;
The last surviving author died at least 70 years before January 1 of the current year;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain

I would probably change the costume a little bit and maybe give him a gun, something a little more present day, maybe a gimmick or two.

I really really wish I knew for sure about this public domain thing otherwise I'll have to stick with only the really old heroes.
