The top books for 2006, in order, were Civil War #2, Civil War #3, Civil War #4, Civil War #5, Justice League of America #1, Infinite Crisis #4, Infinite Crisis #6, Infinite Crisis #5 and Infinite Crisis #7.

According to comicscontinuum.com

dc may have more titles (5 to 4)on the top 9, but marvel holds the top 4 spaces, i'd rather be in marvel's position because that clearly shows, when it comes down to it, they'd buy the marvel big event over the DC one.  i'm surprised civil war#1 didnt make it, but i think thats because it came out and people need a moment to notice whats going on and get hype up.  CW#2 of course because of spidey's de-masking

You never know maybe the continuum.com missed something on the ranking of Civil War #1 because I was thinking the same thing.

well the first 3 issues of civil war were out pretty quick, it takes people a minute, but maybe everyone started followiung it after spidey unmasked.

Sorry, I lost my geek membership card for that one.

It definitely ranks in there with Superman's death.

civil war also didn't make the eisner awards for best limited series!  how crazy was that, it's one of the best mini series ever written, and it's not just another black and white good vs. evil story.  both sides of the war have good guys!  oh, just read amazing spider-man 538.  last panel= aunt may with a bullet wound in the chest.
