i finally read it because i bought the tpb.  i figured it was better to reread a tpb than to wear out first editions, and i wanted to read #7!  unfortuneately though, i already knew basically what happened due to all of the tie-ins and other things that have happened in the marvel U since then (ahem:captain america's death!)  it was good though, and because i waited, despite all of the mysterious quetions it left, i already knew the answers.  i love the art in that book though, it is spectacular!  that's about as real a superhero can look in a comic in my opinion, but unlike books like ex machina, it was cool.  i especially loved that part where mr. fantastic sees spidey in action and says, "amazing."  spidey kangaroo-kicks him and says "spectacular."  i love little puns like that in comics.
i also picked up this tpb "Birth of Venom." after seeing spidey 3, i was in the mood for some original venom stuff. i got sucked in by the cover, it was this one, but altered colors a bit
