Hey everyone! The name's Mike, on other boards I'm known as Aerolectric.  I'm the creator of the (soon to be) popular story "Road of Lightning".  Basics? It's a superhero story, featuring myself as the main character and friends of mine, ideas from other current comics, and stuff that just pops into my head as supporting characters and scenarios.

A big question I know you are all asking is will this be another crappy superhero story wannabe?

Well guess what.  It's not! And I'll prove it.

I HATE wannabe stories, so I made a type of story where there's just the right amount of describing and/or texture so that it doesn't get in the way of the actual story, I'm basically taking a 30 minute cartoon episode (i.e.) and putting in a page.  Adding on to this, I've watched superheroes, read comics, and dived into movies all my life.  I know scenarios, likely and unlikely happenings and have this 6th sense for what people like.  Don't believe me? Read the first couple chapters! (Plus it get's better as the story progresses)

Now! For the synopsis that took me about a minute to do.

Mike is one day struck by an oddly discolored electrical storm, and things just get weird from there!  Throughout the story, he meets friends and foes, trying to discover what he is and how did it happen, and the big question, what will he do with his new found powers?  Later in life he dons the name Lectrohm or Ohm for short. (See my member profile, artwork done by Gerry)

But enough about the story, the first 2 seasons are already posted on my blog...BUT if you want the full effect of a real story, view this site where I'll post chapters of "Road of Lightning" every week.  Each chapter is about a page to 2 pages long.  So it'll take you about 5-10 minutes depending on your speed.

Well I think that’s everything! If there are any questions, be sure to ask here on this topic, topics that include a chapter will be about that chapter only! Along with possibilities and foreshadowing stuff.

Alrighty then! Let's get it started!!!

UPDATE 14 May 2007 8:02 PST

Since (hopefully) more people will be visiting the site, and talking about each chapter on it's appropriate topic, Tim (our moderator) has set up an area showing the current posted list of chapters in order.  The list can be found by clicking here.

I like the new "Table of Contents" Tim set up!!    Keep up the good work Aero!!    One suggestion, no offense intended, you might want to have someone proof-read your work before posting.  Sometimes I'll catch words spelled incorrectly, the wrong tense of a word, or a word used by mistake [i.e. "their" when you really meant "there"].  Again, no big deal, just a suggestion!

Yeah, I'm going to have a lot of people proofread it after I finish season 3.

try some pictures, visuals are always great despite quality if they're consistent.  maybe you've got a friend to draw them or something?

I try to, Gerry has done the artwork for Ohm (pic in profile) and in season 3 he's done Drake (based on a sketch by a friend.

How's the progress coming for the artwork for season 3?

Update 23 July 2007 2:40 PM PST

Bad, unfortunately.

I've recieved some art work from Gerry but he hasn't returned any of my e-mails for about a month now.  I still have 2-3 more sketches to do with Ryan, and he'll be gone for the rest of the summer.  Ryan, I can always hook up with later, but Gerry i can't -- told me that he has been really busy lately.  I don't want him to stop doing the artwork ya know? But if he can't get it done and sent to me faster, I'm going to have to find someone else--and who knows how long that'll take.

So, I can start posting season 3 without the pictures if you all want, I believe that's they way to go.

Yeah, if you have work already done I'd go ahead and post it.

Alright then.  I'll post the first chapter right after breakfast.

Logistics always seems to be a real trick.  However, since you already have some of the artwork, I'd agree with going ahead and posting some of the new chapters.   Looking forward to reading them!!

Update 3 August 2007 10:37 PM PST

For those of you who read the story with a well trained mind and a scientific approach, know ahead of time that you will be disappointed.  The universe in which my characters live is not the same as ours.  The science that we know and are taught in schools does not thrive in this universe's existence.  Instead it's been replaced by another type of science--one similar to the DC and/or Marvel's universe.

I (try) to use a method of comic writing known as Techno babble.  Basically, this style of writing is a way to make complete nonsense sound scientific.  For more information on it, click here.

That's very cool. Addressing scientific issues in a comic story is rather difficult. I do like as much real science to be in the mix as possible though, depending on what the topic is. Something about Marvel's Negative Zone for instance I would expect to be completely fabricated science since it really doesn't have anything to do with an existing phenomen. At least I don't think it does.

But say, time travel, I think is more interesting when it has some basis in scientific theory that has been thrown around by Einstein or others.

Update 18 August 2007 8:57 PM PST

Hey everyone, I know I haven't posted on here in a while.  My bad, anyway I just want to let you all know that on my computer, right now, I have season 4 finished, and am currently working on the 3rd chapter in season 5.

Also, I'd like to announce that I'll be turning 17 on the 29th.

Putting that aside, season 4 will have only 8 chapters compared to the usual 14.  This is because I'll be focusing on a special aspect of the story there.  Season 5 will pick up immediately after season 4's finale's plot twist.

Before I post seasons 4 or 5!!! I need to know from all you people who read the story, would you like me to do criminal backgrounds?  Or continue with the story for now?  Hmm..What I mean is, would you like me to, instead of starting a new story, would you like me to make a season or 2 of the history behind Potentia? Amp? The weird Smog being? If so, just simply say the word.

I will eventually do both, but I'm curious to see which the audience like to see first?  If you want the villains first and are curious about what season number they will be, well call them season 3.5

Personally, I like it when there are two things going on at the same time. Like flashbacks of a villain's past while the hero is doing his thing in the present.
Posted:  19 Aug 2007 23:05
So you mean intertwine them? That's a good idea, I might do that.  But I gues what I'm really asking is that do you and everyone else want to read about that, or do you want to start with this new story I have written?
