A real cool thing I did with this part of the story, read it once you're done with this chapter.

Chapter 19; Disturbance

Ohm: Alexa! Turn down the speed!
Noticing Ohm, the wind speed steadily declines back down to zero; she levitates down with ease looking at her body in amazement. Exiting the room, Ohm flies down to Alexa covering her with a protective energy shield just as the weight falls back down breaking on contact with the shield.
Alexa: Oops. (Ohm sighs and Alexa hears a sense of relief in it)
Stan: Excellent work. (He says while walking down)
Alexa: I'm really so--
Stan: --Nah, don't trouble yourself with it; I can have it rebuilt in no time. The important thing is that you have control over your powers now.
Lee notions to a TV screen where it looks like the strange wind patterns ceased existing. Ohm walks over to the screen sensing something is wrong again as he did back in his apartment. He is just barely able to make out some sort of plane fly off in the landscaped view of where the tornadoes had been.
Alexa: You mean I was causing those terrible twisters?
Stan: Looks like it, but you have your power under control now...Ohm? What is it?
Ohm: Something's wrong, I don't think she got her powers on accident.
Alexa: What do you mean?
Ohm: Something flew off camera after the tornados died down, and the reports of all these different symbols appearing all over the world? Something's happening Stan--and I don't think it's a good thing.
Alexa: I want to help.
Ohm: I don't kn--
Alexa: No, I'm part of this and I need to help in anyway I can. That is if Stan would be nice enough to train me a little more on controlling my powers.
Stan: I'd be delighted, Ohm? You're going to need help.
Ohm: I might, but right now I need to concentrate on finding out how many other symbols have been made and where they are. Alexa, be sure to talk to your parents about your decision, I'll be by in a couple of days for a check up. (Grabs a small device) Stan, I'm going to need to borrow this. (Stan nods)
With that, Ohm exits the house and flies to the news studio. 'I sure hope this is doesn't get any worse...' He says as he winds he way through the jungle of buildings. At his arrival, he asks to be directed to the intercontinental station, there, he talks to one of the broadcasters asking them where else other reports of the strange storms have been reported. The reporter gives Ohm a list of a couple cities, thanking the reporter he travels to another news station and repeats the process along the eastern coast. Once he compiles a list of cities, he heads back to the police station to try and sort this out. In the back room, he compares all of the lists at super speed. Only a few of the hundreds of cities turn out to be real sightings. Grabbing the final list, Ohm flies out and head towards the first city located in Nanaimo, Canada, at the south eastern tip of Vancouver Island.* Scroll to bottom and read.
Ohm sears through the atmosphere passing state after state within minutes. Looking at his new state of the art GPS system he borrowed from Stan Lee, Ohm sees he has just entered Washington State. A few minutes later he arrives at the southeast tip of Vancouver Island where it looks like the storm had just passed. After a few minutes of scanning the city for the symbol without luck he heads north towards the Nanaimo park area (Latitude: 49°13'31.10"N Longitude: 123°59'2.94"W). Bingo. He spots the smoking symbol in the ground along with someone in it, Ohm is about to swoop down to their rescue when he senses something that stops him in his tracks. The symbol seems different somehow, darker...
Ohm is shocked to see the person stand straight up, and fly up to Ohm. A man with dressed in a Gypsy attire floats a few feet away from Ohm with his eyes closed.
Ohm: Listen to me you're not yourself, come with me and I'll help you.
Man: I think not.
Ohm: But--
Man: I know perfectly well what has happened to me, he has given me insight.
The strange man opens his eyes which are a dark purple with pupils that are sliced like a cat's. Suddenly a blast of psychic energy strikes Ohm's head. Catching himself, Ohm is confused, 'What are you doing?' He yells, but to no effect. Another blast comes, invisible to the naked eye, Ohm has to rely on his heightened senses to detect the electrical disturbance the blasts make. In a furious movement, the man continuously scatter shots numerous blasts in all directions forcing Ohm to push his super reflexes to the test. 'Enough!' Ohm yells and launches a blast of energy at the man. As it nears it's deflected by some sort of psychic shielding cocoon. Ohm continues to launch powerful blasts in an attempt to break his shield in between dodging. Ohm senses a small crack in the shield and focuses all of his blasts in the direction. A couple seconds of dodging and blasting later, the cocoon shatters, knocking the man backwards. Ohm takes the opportunity to charge some electricity between his hands and launches the beam at him. The beam overpowers and separates a type of plasmatic dark energy from the man who starts to fall back to earth. Ohm sends a cushiony energy shield to catch the man falling and lowers him down. When Ohm looks up, the black and purple figure is closing in on him, Ohm releases a fast amount of energy and the light disintegrates the creature almost instantly. 'Weird' Ohm thinks, 'One symbol down, next up, Reykjavík, Iceland.' With the list in hand Ohm speeds back off across the country.
