Just to let you all know where we are at on the Time-Rider book publishing. You can now order Time-Rider's first book at http://www.cafepress.com/timerider.133022448.
Now I just ordered my copy, hopefully there won't be any problems to attend to. It will have full color covers but the content inside will be black and white. One big plus is that it contains a big 112 pages!
Will report back once I've received my copy in the next week.

very nice looking product, I may purchase it sometime, but not now. i think i shall wait a little while. so what issues does it contain?
i think it's awesome that you've done this, you've literally turned your idea into a quality graphic novel, great stuff!
you know, if you do anymore, i don't know how much each page costs to publish or whatever, but you could put extra features in the back like lots of graphic novels do. i mean, simple stuff like early sketches, covers, and things like that first picture of you in the original time rider costume. you could even put a foreword in sometime.
i like the nice, friendly price of it too.
how much did it cost to get it published, or what's the deal there? __________________"You...complete me."

Well it's a publish on demand deal which means that if I don't sale any, I'm not out any money. I just finished uploading the templates and everything to cafepress and then went ahead and ordered my own copy for proofreading so yeah it may be a good idea to wait a week and see how that copy turns out. I'll be letting you all know here of course.
So for all intents and purposes I'm only out time spent creating the book at this point. The book covers the first 7 issues of Time-Rider.
Quote: you could put extra features in the back like lots of graphic novels do. i mean, simple stuff like early sketches, covers, and things like that I was thinking about that too. I wanted to get the first one done as fast as possible though just so I could figure out the whole process, but I think later I will combine material from the site and original content. Of course the more I sale of the book the more I will be more likely to include fresh content like other peoples sketches, character bios, maybe some origin stories, and stuff like that.

Got my book in, and it looks good, of course the interior is in black and white, but they did a great on the printing. The only complaint I have is there seems to be a little too much space at the bottom. I guess that will be next on my agenda, but other than that it seems to be perfect. The full color cover turned out great as well which I'm really glad of.

Well I haven't really promoted the book yet, I wanted to get my copy first to make sure it looked good, and now I'm pondering what to do about the gap in the margin below the image. It's not really huge, but just enough to concern me. I think I might have to call the book company and see what I can do. Then I'm going to see what I can do to promote it. Here on this board in this one topic, I think is the only place I've got it really advertised.
Getting people aware of the book is going to be the hardest thing.

Here's a scan, it actually looks better than this in your hand, but you can see how big the margin is.
What do you think should I just take it into consideration on the next book, or work on fixing this book's margin again which means when I'm done I have to order another copy to make sure I didn't screw something up by making changes.

Yeah, I'm doing it over again. Just can't stand the thought that something like that could keep people from enjoying the book. Might take a few days, but it's all part of the learning process, I reckon.

The book is redone, and back for sale online again, now I got to order another copy and see what we got. If all is ok then it's time to really start brain storming and figuring out how to promote it.

I'm anxious to see a scan of your book with the corrections made. You're right, the gap at the bottom of the pages really needed to be adjusted.

I can't wait to get it in the mail. I hope it's right. I sure would hate to have to pay some more money for yet another copy.

Got my book, I'll scan in a page of it later, but it looks good. I'm happy with it. Right now I'm trying to finish the page I'm working on for the next Time-Rider story. Taking me forever.
But anyways anybody that wants a copy go ahead and order it. http://www.cafepress.com/timerider.133022448. to make Time-Rider a success so we can keep on making more stories.

you should sign-up for a booth at some small comic convention sometime to really get the word out. or maybe your local comic book shop would be willing to carry it on the premises of it being made by a local. __________________"You...complete me."
