A real rarity has finally been released to DVD, it's the 1977 Batman Filmation Cartoon featuring the voices of Adam West and Burt Ward. This one to my knowledge has not been re-ran on television since the 80's on CBS. It features Bat-mite a magical imp kind of character that kind of reminds you of Mr. Mytxylpyk only he's a good guy. This is the kind of cartoon you'd probably only want to buy if you are collecting all things Batman or if you remember watching it as a kid and want to watch it again for nostalgia's sake. Personally, it's going on my list of DVDs I've got to get eventually, but it's not an emergency. It has a great opening. It almost feels like you are watching the real Batman move, but the stories are bogged down thank to all the bleeding heart hippy no violence crap of the 1970's. So villains have to be outsmarted instead of heaven forbid punched. Personally, though I can't wait to see all the old moral segments. You know the ones where Batman says to drink milk because it's good for you or don't smoke. That kind of thing. That's bound to bring back nostalgic memories. Shazam, Superfriends, and even Popeye used to do the same thing.
Order it now from Amazon

Watch a blurry intro version of the show

Well I take it back it must have been re-ran somewhere on television because there's a new WB logo on this one.

i'm surprised bat-mite as in teir, didn't know he was that old.  seems like they were going for a scooby-doo type thing.

i'd like to see the scooby/batman cartoons again, those were cool, added a little more dimension to the shows, i've always been a fan of team-ups.

Yeah, and I like those kind of teamups you least expect like a cartoon dog and a superhero. Wouldn't it have been cool to see Dynomutt team up with Batman?

They've got the whole Dynomutt Series on DVD I haven't got it yet though. Might someday if the price comes down. Used to love to watch it when I was a kid. Dynomutt and Blue Falcon would occassionally do a teamup with Scooby Doo. Scooby teamed up with almost everyone in the known universe except for Superman. Scooby teamed up with the Three Stooges, Don Knotts, the Harlem Globetrotters, was seen with almost all the Hanna Barbera characters probably at least once, I think he might have even teamed up with Davey Jones from the Monkees.

yeah, superman wasn't quite the cartoon hit that others like batman were.  he just doesn't have as good of a rouges gallery in the cartoon medium where fresh villains are constantly expected every episode.
and good observation, scooby was for hanna-barbera as spider-man is for marvel.

Its a shame Scooby never teamed up with Birdman

In the adult swim cartoon Harvey Birdman, both Scooby and Shaggy are arrested for smoking pot.

Come to thing of it...They always did look like stoners...

they're not stonerx, they're just layed back, like owen wilson.
