Chapter 39; Distorted

Flying overhead, Ohm is trying to figure out how to get past the dark bubble, he lands and places his palm on the surface. He instantly retracts as he feel's his power drain from him, then Ohm flies back up to where the jets are circling.
Ohm: How much weaponry do you have on there?
Pilot #1: Enough to blow hole in that bubble, that's for sure.
Ohm: Alright--take it out.
The pilots nod and begin their strike by moving back a ways, then, once they've gained enough distance the flip over and head straight for the bubble. The first two jets fire 4 missiles and the second two follow Ohm with machine gun fire. The missiles hit the bubble dead on exploding on contact, the bubble ripples but isn’t harmed, the machine gun fire has a similar effect. 'Alright' Ohm thinks, 'my turn'. Ohm drops down to about 10 feet and focuses his energy to charge in his hands, raising one he fires a beam of golden energy at the bubble, same effect as the missiles. He raises his other hand and the beam intensifies, still no effect. Ohm concentrates as he had in previous battles--thunder roars overhead, his hair waves, and electricity fluctuates over his body. The beam grows larger and takes on the blue aura this begins to deal damage to the bubble. It ripples violently and tears in some places, but seconds later it clots back together, Ohm gets angry at this and tries to raise he power more. He can't focus, and the beam diminishes in power to the point where Ohm gives up on the blast. S.T.A.R. soars overhead and lands near where Ohm is floating, Wraith jumps out.
Wraith: (Looking at the bubble) That’s--big.
Ohm: And it's tough, my blasts had barely any effect on it.
Wraith: Wait, what type of blast did you use?
Ohm: Normal energy blast?
Wraith: Try powering your beams with more light energy than concussive energy. (Ohm nods)
Wraith hops back a few feet, and Ohm starts to focus energy into his hands again. This time he concentrates on light energy to flow through the beam. He fires the golden beam and the bubble with the same effect as last time, focusing harder; the beam takes a bright aura and turns white. The intensity increases and the dark matter bubble ripples much more violently then ever before. It cracks in certain places, then finally shatters creating a hole in it about 10 feet wide. Wraith wisps through, Ohm contacts the pilots, 'Make sure to tell the situation to my team if they come.' then Ohm jumps through. The bubble begins to stretch and grow and it covers the hole completing the barricade once again.
Looking around, Ohm and Wraith see the launch site as if the dark bubble wasn't even there, only a thin line can be seen separating this distorted area from the regular area. This area inside the bubble seems darker, more inverted in, and black matter sprinkles from the ground upwards in areas around them.
Wraith: Where are we? Some sort of anti-world?
Ohm: Yeah, I think we're in a part of our Earth that's covered in negative energy.
Wraith: Then Drake will be a lot stronger here, stay on guard.
Wraith and Ohm run towards the building looking around with caution and curiosity. Wraith takes out his axe and slices the door in half and kicks it in. They walk in they're immediately met by a mound of bodies near the stairs. Ohm walks up to one of them, he flips him over and jumps backwards almost immediately when he sees the face of the Police Officer. His face is elongated in a state of terror, Ohm kneels down and listens for a heart beat, it's faint but not because it's slow, but because it's beating so fast. Ohm's eyes widen as he takes a few steps back, 'Drake has them set in a state of fear. We have to stop this dark energy that's being put out; it's only a matter of time before their hearts explode. This way.' Ohm flies up the stairs with Wraith leaping them in single bound, they head up the staircases to the top and open the door to the roof. Drake is on the stairway leading to the shuttle door, he turns around to see them.
Drake: Damn, you should still be fighting the others.
Wraith: So you paid them off?
Drake: Needed you guys outta' the way for a little bit. I guess it worked as well as it needed too, luckily I was able to find and old friend of yours Ohm. Have fun.
Kalinro: (Walking out from behind the doorway) Pay back. (Wraith and Ohm turn around wide-eyed)
Ohm: How'd you survive?
Kalinro: That's not your most pressing issue at the moment. (Drake leaps into the shuttle)
Wraith: You have to go after Drake; I’ll take care of ugly. Hurry!
Ohm super speeds into the shuttle hatch before it's closed, Kalinro stares and Wraith who stairs back. Then in the matter of seconds Kalinro takes a giant axe from his back and rushes Wraith. Taking his own axe, Wraith rushes back; they clash in a contest of strength. Kalinro starts to over power Wraith, mumbling a few words to himself the inscriptions on Wraith's axe glow blue as does his body and slowly he regains position against Kalinro. Wraith gives in and side steps tripping Kalinro, then he side kicks him in the ribs into the doorway he came out from behind. Getting up almost instantly, Kalinro throws his axe like a boomerang at Wraith who gets hit square in the chest. He takes the axe out of his armor and snaps it half over his knee.
Kalinro: You fight well little human. Give up now and I will let you live to tell the story.
Wraith flicks his hand in a "Bring it" motion enraging Kalinro who charges back. Wraith then jumps over him and in mid jump, his disappears and reappears behind Kalinro. Wraith swings his axe down on the back of Kalinro's head who, at the last second, turns around and catches the axe in his bare hand. Taking the axe from Wraith, he punches him with his other hand knocking Wraith almost off the roof. Kalinro then breaks Wraith's axe like he did to his. Kalinro takes an alien shaped gun from his back and fires multiple shots at Wraith. Flipping over the bullets and the ledge, Wraith grabs the window sill in front of him swinging with all his might. He crashes through it and, still holding on, crashes through the ceiling back onto the roof. Kalinro gives a somewhat astonished look as Wraith cracks his neck. 'Hell of a good warm up.' Wraith says.
A huge rumble almost knocks both Kalinro and Wraith off their feet as they see the shuttle launch into the sky shattering the dark bubble. It falls all around them and the area begins to lighten up back to normal. 'No' Wraith thinks and a second later he throws a couple stars hitting Kalinro's hand knocking the gun off the ledge. Kalinro takes a curved sword off his back and Wraith takes out his katana. They charge at each other and in a furious motion of sword versus sword, Wraith's sword beings to gain the blue aura as he mumbles the words again. The swords clash, each hit is more powerful than the last and sparks soon begin to fly. Kalinro roars as he goes for a kill strike, Wraith blocks and spinning the swords, he knocks Kalinro's out of his hands.
Wraith ducks to doge Kalinro's swipe and slices right through Kalinro's leg; he immediately falls backward. Kalinro grabs his stump of a leg in pain as Wraith instigates a final blow; he jumps high into the air then, pointing the sword down he lands piercing Kalinro straight through the middle of his armor. Wraith stands up and looks into the sky for the shuttle, it's now only a little spec in the sky.
Wraith: No... (Pulls out a communicator) Jimmy? I need STAR now!
