Chapter 40; Launched

'I know you're here!' Ohm yells looking around the shuttle, no answer. Ohm speeds up and down the ship looking for Drake but to no prevail. He zips towards the cockpit when the door closes and slams Ohm backwards. Ohm shakes his head and tries to get up when the floor shakes beneath him, Ohm is rocketed backwards. 'It launched?' he thinks, 'Damn...' Ohm charges his body and begins an energized tackle of the door when Drake phases through the shadow and tackles Ohm down the corridor.
Drake: You just don't get it do you?
Ohm: What's not to get? You're a psychopath, you'll kill everyone!
Drake: (Rolling his eyes) Bingo.
Ohm: (Looking around) Wait a second...
Drake: (Beginning to laugh) It's about time you figured it out.
Ohm: What are we in?
Drake: Newest model of a shuttle, travels can travel up to around 80,000 miles a second less then light speed. The government allowed my company to work with NASA to test it today. No one saw me turn into Drake in the back and things got pleasently scary from there.
Ohm: Stop this shuttle or I will.
Drake: Ooo, now I'm scared.
Ohm punches Drake in the jaw, then side kicks him in the gut knocking him back a ways. Drake and Ohm get up and enter hyper speed at the same time. Ohm goes for an uppercut; Drake blocks and swings the back of his fist into Ohm's head. Ohm recovers and Drake then front kicks Ohm, who catches his leg; merging his weight with the force, he snaps Drakes knee, he immediately yells, then starts laughing. Ohm is caught off guard as Drake jumps with his remaining foot and kicks Ohm in the face, knocking him out of hyper speed; Drake spins in mid-air and lands stomach down on his hands and feet. Ohm twists in pain, then comes back with his hand charged with energy.
Drake: (Waving his finger) Uh, uh, uuuh... don't want to destroy the shuttle with us inside do you?
Ohm: Well I guess that depends, how badly do I want you dead?
Drake: Hahaha, (Grabbing Ohm's arm and bending it upwards) But that's just it, you're not the killing type.
Frowning, Ohm takes his other hand and charges it with energy; he then punches Drake who lets go of his arm. Both rush each other exchanging blows that shake the shuttle as it begins to leave Earth's atmosphere. Miles below, Wraith stands on top of the building waiting for his ride, A strong gust of wind rushes past him as STAR flies up from below the building. The hatch opens and Wraith jumps in.
Jimmy: Where to?
Wraith: Up.
Jimmy: Up? You mean...
Wraith: Yeah, set area to Space, Ohm is going to need our help.
STAR begins to rise and Wraith looks back at where he struck Kalinro, but there's no one there, 'What?!' he thinks to himself. It's too late for Wraith to investigate more, STAR gains speed every second, but the shuttle is already far into space heading for the sun. Drake phases into a shadow dodging Ohm's kick. Ohm spins around looking for where he might pop up, a strong strike hits Ohm's head and he falls over unconscious. 'Now to get back to setting up.' Drake says as he flies into the cockpit, he grabs the black box and presses a button on the side. The device opens and 6 cords eject, he grabs the ball of energy he took from Ohm and the black plasma retracts up his arm, just as it did before. He plugs each of the cords into the orb and the orb becomes dimmer as energy is sucked away, it's depleted in a matter of seconds. Drake phases a tentacle holding the Anti-Fusion device through the front of the ship and in hyper speed plus the speed of the ship he tosses it full force towards the sun.
Ohm shakes his head as he wakes up, then he rushes Drake into the flight control panel, it sparks, and the shuttle begins to gain speed and heads toward the Sun. Drake hadn't finished pulling in his tentacle and he yells as the tentacle is obliterated and dark plasma flies in every direction; some hits the Anti-Fusion box. The box crackles with dark electricity and explodes in a cosmic array of black and gold energy. The blast knocks the shuttle back hurtling into space... then the blast reaches the sun.
A deep thunderous boom sounds throughout the solar system; Drake and Ohm stop fighting and turn to look at the sun, and Jimmy and Wraith just after exiting the atmosphere see the explosion. Anemoi hovers over DC, Oxi sits on his bike, Pyra stops flying back to Manhattan, Stan looks out his window; all of Earth stops what their doing as they squint into the light. Slowly, a black dot appears on the sun and slowly begins to grow outwards over it. Ohm takes the opportunity to charge his fists with light energy, and in one powerful motion hits Drake in the back of the head knocking him out instantly. He falls to floor turning into Eddie before he lands, STAR flies up next to the shuttle, Ohm hears sound of metal connecting above but doesn't turn his sight away from the sun, the hatch opens.
Wraith: (Looking at Eddie on the ground, then he turns to Ohm) Did he... do it?
Ohm: I don't kno--I don't think so... the device was supposed to stop Anti-Fusion, but this dark plasma is now encircling the sun. Does it matter? I didn't stop it--I couldn't defeat Drake...
Wraith: Either way, we have to get back to Earth. Come on, (Tugging at Ohm who stands in shock) Let's go. Mike! (Ohm turns) We have to go!
Ohm: Right... (He grabs Eddie)
Wraith: What are you doing?
Ohm: Drake was right, I'm no murderer.
Ohm and Wraith slowly get into STAR, Jimmy locks the hatch and ejects from the shuttle. Ohm sets Drake down on a seat while Wraith fires multiple balls of energy from his ship at the shuttle destroying it. Ohm sits down still awe struck, Jimmy turns STAR around and they head back to Earth...
