Chapter 41; Shining

They arrive below Stan's mansion in the hanger, each of them walks out and Wraith carries Eddie over his shoulder. Stan notions for him to place Eddie in a tank to his right. Wraith tosses him in, Stan goes over to the control panel and press a button; the tank's lid seals shut and oxygen enters through the vents below. As the others get out they're greeted by the relieved group of Anemoi, Pyra, Oxi, and Stan. Pyra runs up to Ohm giving him a hug, after a second she takes a step back and clears her throat, Ohm tries to smile but finds it difficult.
Will: What are we going to do?
Ohm: I don't know, I tried everything, but it wasn't enough.
Silhouetted man: No you haven't. (The entire group turns around to see a Silhouetted man)
Pyra, Anemoi, and Ohm: You! (They all look at each other)
Silhouetted man: Yes, I have appeared to you three for a reason. You were not selected at random. (Looking at Ohm) Fate chose you because it knew you would make the right choices. Now choose. (He wisps away)
Ohm: One day I'm going to sit down with that guy, have a cup of coffee, and ask who the hell he is.
Oxi: Well at least you kept your humor.
Ohm: (Ohm's face changes from a smile to realization and he looks up through the hole in the roof to see the Sun half way engulfed in darkness.) Whoever he is, he's right. I have to do something.
Anemoi: From Earth?
Ohm: Yeah. Everyone get into STAR, Stan can I ask you for something? (Everyone goes into STAR except for Stan and Ohm) Do you have any winter costumes for us?
Stan: I think I have just the thing. (He opens a door and grabs a thick bunch of costumes similar to those the other were already wearing) I made them when I made the original costumes.
Ohm smirks as they climb up inside into the ship, Stan gives everyone their own winter costume. They look at the Ohm, who nods, and they buckle themselves up. Ohm whispers "Kaffeklubben Island" to Jimmy, who nods and punches the coordinates into the computer on the dash board, the ship rises and takes off North. Ohm sits on the ground with his back to the wall, he runs his hand through his hair wondering if his plan is going to work or not. The group talks about what could they do to save everyone if Ohm's plan doesn't work; Pyra unbuckles her belt, get's up, and sits down next to Ohm.
Pyra: You ok?
Ohm: That depends, is all life as we know it on my shoulders?
Pyra: If you told us what you were going to do...
Ohm: I'm going to, but not yet. (Ohm looks a Pyra) Trust me.
They all begin to realize how cold it is where they are headed, as STAR approaches the upper islands in Canada. They land and climb out onto the snow, Ohm whispers to Jimmy and Stan on board and he nods, a second later STAR is up in the air and heading south. 'Follow me.' Ohm says and he starts walking out into the wilderness, the others follow. They walk for what seems like hours when finally Ohm stops, everyone looks at him, then looks up to see the Sun almost completely engulfed by darkness.
Ohm: Ok...
Oxi: Ok?
Anemoi: What's your plan Ohm?
Ohm: Alright. My plan is to do what I do best; I'm going to blast away the darkness surrounding the Sun. I'm not sure if my blast can reach that length but that's why I brought you all along. Wraith?
Wraith: Hm?
Ohm: Use your skills and connect all the spiritual energy of everyone here.
Wraith: (Catching on) I see... then I would channel it to you and give you the power you need to reach the Sun.
Pyra: Our energy?
Oxidro: This should be interesting.
Ohm: For this to work we all need to know the situation, we need to be strongly emotional right now and from that emotion we shall borrow the power to undo what Drake has done. Everything rides on this plan, and there is no plan B. We fail? And we'll go home and live out the rest of our lives saving as many people as we can for a month or maybe two. (Everyone looks down in sorrow) Then the world will begin to die, everything, everyone you've ever cared about will be thrown into perpetual darkness and destruction. Countless lives are at stake and there's no other way. We have to do this. People are depending on us...Ready? (The group looks up and each one nods, Ohm put his charged and glowing hand out in front of them.) Then all together--
Pyra: (Putting her heated hand on top of Ohm's) --as a symbol for good--
Oxi: (Placing his hand in) --never giving up the fight--
Anemoi: (She places her hand in) --no matter what the cost.
Wraith: (Places his hand on top glowing blue with power) Let's do this.
The colors of energy from each of their hands brighten to a shining white as they retract their hands. Ohm stands his ground, thunder rumbles, his hair flows and his eyes turn gold; then with all his might, he yells at the top of his lungs blasting energy straight at the almost dead Sun.

His beam cycles through the different levels, gold, then gold wih blue aura, then crimson red. Wraith begins to glow blue as energy is drained from his friends into himself, then extending and arm, palm open he channels the energy to Ohm. Ohm's beam doubles in intensity and power almost instantly, the beam breaks that atmosphere and soars through space towards the Sun.
Ohm: That's it!
Wraith: Everyone concentrate!
The wind picks up as Anemoi beings to levitate, her energy doubles and Ron blasts more energy into Ohm. Pyra ignites and her energy does the same; Oxi liquefies and his energy grows as well. Finally Wraith mumbles a few words on the side and the energy around him intensifies, then with all his might he blasts Ohm square in the chest. Ohm yells as if it's almost too much energy, then in a brilliant surge of energy, his beam turns white with power. Its strength increases ten fold and the size rapidly grows in size. Millions of miles away, the beam hits the small yellow spot on the Sun where the darkness had not gotten to yet. The beam immediately pushes back the darkness almost to the end, but it doesn't give up.
Ohm: AAAAHHHHH! I can't--It, it needs more power!
Wind blasts in all directions from Anemoi's surge of energy, 'Dragon's Flare!' Pyra's energy increases as well as she is engulfed in a molten dragon like figure; the snow melting beneath her. Oxi begins to grow into his acidic giant form, with it his energy increases as well. Gritting his teeth, Wraith let's loose the final blast of energy to Ohm, 'That's it!' Ohm says as he opens his eyes. Oxi reverts back to normal and falls to his knees, Anemoi stops floating and lands on her hands and knees. Pyra holds out a little longer but she to goes limp. Wraith falls backward completely drained of energy, Ohm yells out of instinct in a final attempt to win. Gold lightning surrounds the outside of the white beam and obliterates the darkness on the Sun.
The beam gradually disintegrates as Ohm falls flat on his back with little electrical pulses fluctuating over his body. He's out of breath, but happy it's finally over. Around the Earth crowds of people applaud and hug their families and friends in relief. Stan and Jimmy look out STAR's window and can't help but laugh in joy, kicking the ship into gear, Jimmy heads back to pick up the heroes.
