SuperDude: Hancock Review

Tim: I saw it yesterday. I liked it. The more I thought about it the more I liked it. I think the worse I could say is that I might have been bored a total of 10 minutes but I loved 90 percent of it. The ending was awesome. Got to love it when the hero has to dig way deep down inside himself against all odds and get up to save the day.

A little bit on the cussing for a pg-13 movie. I almost think it could have been R rated.

[up] I'd go see a sequel.

Tim: Christian Bale Talks about Ledger

Tim: Bale talks about Heath Ledger and how his dad was his hero.
http://news.yahoo.com/page/parade/bale
Your co-star Heath Ledger, who plays The Joker, died tragically after the film wrapped. Do you mind talking about him?

"No, listen, I want to talk about Heath. When you miss somebody, you want to speak about him. He was a unique character, a very infectious character. He was a good man, and I was glad to have spent time with him. He was somebody who I'd been seeing on a daily basis for months. It takes a long time to accept that someone's gone, when all body and mind are telling you that this is somebody you will know for a great deal of time. He was something of a kindred spirit to myself."

Did you have heroes growing up?

"Not traditional idols — certainly not superheroes. I don't think I was particularly in need of that. I never had any fascination with Superman or Spider-Man or a Batman kind of character. If it happened at all, it was imagined characters that I had invented. My dad was a role model for me. He was a fascinating man. There was intrigue and entertainment growing up with him. He gave me an edict that I still pursue: 'Life should never be boring.'"
Tim: Dark Knight Review

Tim: Found this review of the Dark Knight mostly praising Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker.
http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/20080627/121457364000.html
At times sounding like a cross between tough guy James Cagney in a gangster flick and Philip Seymour Hoffman's fastidious Truman Capote, Ledger elevates Batman's No. 1 nemesis to a place even Jack Nicholson did not take him in 1989's "Batman."

"It was though they'd taken the Joker and all the colors, everything of it, and just kind of put him through a Turkish prison for a decade or so," Bale told the AP. "It's like he's gone through that personal hell to come out being this, if you can even call him mad, at the end here."
