Technically the Justice League really started out as the Justice Society which was DC's first group of heroes in the 1940's and had a lot of the same members as the Justice League such as Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, etc.  The Justice League was initially formed in the 1960's while the Justice Society was deemed to have been from an alternate universe. Thousands of products have been produced over the years for the members of the Justice League, and the group itself has spawned products based on the comic book series and their animated series like the Super Friends, and the Justice League Unlimited Series. The group is also known as the JLA short for the Justice League of America, Justice League Unlimited, and also Justice League International.
