Marvel Super Heroes Fantastic Four Movie
Michael Chiklis Interview in Muscle & Fitness

The new Thing or the actor playing the Thing for the first time in a live action movie, Michael Chiklis, did an interview in the July 2005 issue of Muscle & Fitness.

He describes the training he's done for the Fantastic Four movie and the kind of workout he did before his popular tv show the Shield. He says he ran 6 to 7 miles a day trying to build up his endurance for the the part of the Thing to build up his endurance. He says he wished he had trained with a weighted vest so his legs would have been prepared to deal with the weight. He also so said he was kicking himself for pushing for a non cgi Thing. He thinks being trapped inside the suit gave him what he needed to play the Thing, a man trapped inside the Thing. When asked how much can the Thing bench he said "something like 8,500 pounds". The suit weighed 60 pounds and was 5 inches thick in some places.

Before landing the gig as the Thing Michael Chiklis first got fame as the Commish.

The magazine reveals that even though Chiklis is in a suit the effects team added some cool computer enhancement to the Thing.
