Kombat vs. DC Universe video game.
The game, for Xbox 360 and PlayStaton 3, will be available in November:
Here's how Midway describes the game:
"For the first time ever Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the Mortal Kombat
warriors battle with Batman, Superman and other popular DC Universe
Super Heroes. Choose your side and challenge your opponents with a new
fighting system including Freefall Kombat and Klose Kombat along with
dynamic multi-tiered environments. Plus, pick your favorite character
from MK or DCU and pursue a fighting adventure in the new single player
mode with an intertwined storyline and two unique perspectives."

Some of the characters' abilities, especially on the
DC side, have been toned down to make them balanced within the game. A
case of this Superman is not as invulnerable as he usually is, as
otherwise the game would be sorely unbalanced. One might assume the
Mortal Kombat players are powered by magic thus this would automatically
decrease Superman's powers. Superman is vulnerable to magic as his
powers come from science.
The entire roster was officially confirmed by Midway in September.
It has been announced that the game will feature a story mode,
playable from two different perspectives, one from the DC side,
and one from the Mortal Kombat side. Depending on which side
players choose, they will see the characters from the opposite
universe as the invaders of their own.
During fights, characters will show permanent
signs of damage, such as bruises, blood marks, and broken or torn
clothing pieces. For example, Scorpion's mask will fall off if hit in
the face many times. All of the MK characters and DC villains will also
have fatalities, while DC heroes will have brutalities which will
function similarly to fatalities, except without killing the opponent
(as far as the story is concerned). |
