Chuck Connors is most famous for his heroic action hero performance as the Riflman, Lucas McCain. Connors has two connections to Superman. One a few of the Rifleman episodes were directed by Superman the Movie's Richard Donner, and Chuck Connors guest starred as Superman on the 1950's TV Show The Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves. Connors didn't actually play the superhero Superman, but instead guest starred as a country bumpkin with great strength in his own right named Sylvester J. Superman. Episode description
