Teenagers have been a big part of comics since the early days when characters like Batman took on a young side kick named Robin to help greater identify with the readers.
A whole team of superhero teenagers was formed to pal around with a young Super Teen of Steel, Superboy, called the Legion of Super-Heroes. The original Legion first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) and was the first super-team of the Silver Age of Comic Books.
Captain America had his sidekick named Bucky. Green Arrow had Speedy. The Flash had Kid Flash, and on and on it went.
