eOne, the Hasbro-owned entertainment studio, is behind the film with longtime franchise studio Paramount. The studios are looking to build out the next iteration of the franchise. Along with Caple’s Transformers take, it was recently announced that Charm City Kings Angel Manuel Soto is developing another feature in the universe. With these projects, sources say, there is a concerted effort to bring diverse talent to the forefront of one of the studio’s most profitable franchises.
Ramos— repped by CAA, Door 24, Modest Management and Paul Hasting— first broke out on the stage in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton and made the quick transitions to film and television, with credits that include Spike Lee’s series adaption of She’s Gotta Have It, the Lady Gaga-fronted A Star is Born and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
He leads his first studio feature with Miranda’s movie musical In the Heights, due out later this year via Warner Bros.
