“She’s amazing,” Cumberbatch said of working with Olsen on the new Doctor Strange project. “It’s a very exciting next step for Wanda.” The actor joked he could not say anything else because Marvel had his home bugged.
The most popular WandaVision cameo theory would have marked a special occasion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but was a major ask.
What seemed to be the most obvious cameo to some, deriving from Scarlet Witch comic lore, would have been Magneto, specifically Ian McKellen, who played the character in Fox’s X-Men films from 2000 to 2014. In the comics, Magneto is Wanda’s father.
