“Striking Distance Studios has one goal with The Callisto Protocol — to make one of the most terrifying games of all time,” said Glen Schofield, CEO of Striking Distance Studios.
He is known for creating Dead Space at Visceral Games and for being the co-head of independent developer Sledgehammer Games.
“Skybound Entertainment is unrivaled in the worlds of sci-fi and horror storytelling, and will be an incredible partner for KRAFTON and Striking Distance Studios as we bring the world of The Callisto Protocol to life in games and beyond,” continued Schofield.
South Korean company Krafton is known for properties including the multiplayer online battle arena series PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and the PUBG Studio.
Noting that The Walking Dead has expanded from its original comic book “to multiple television series, books, video games, merchandise, and more,” Skybound Entertainment owner Kirkman teased that “similar possibilities” will be explored for The Callisto Protocol.
The game is currently in development at the San Ramon-based Striking Distance Studios.
