The ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ actor joins Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the show based on the popular video game franchise.
Gabriel Luna is joining The Last of Us at HBO.
The Terminator: Dark Fate actor will star with Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) and Pedro Pascal in the series based on the hit video game franchise. Luna is set to play Tommy, Joel’s (Pascal) younger brother, a former soldier who maintains a sense of idealism and hope in a post-apocalyptic world.
The Last of Us centers on the relationship between Joel, a hardened survivor of the collapse of modern civilization 20 years ago, and 14-year-old Ellie (Ramsey), whom he’s hired to smuggle out of an oppressive quarantine zone.
The show is based on the breakout PlayStation game, which has sold more than 17 million copies since its 2013 release. Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann, writer and creative director of the video game, are writing the series. They executive produce with The Mighty Mint’s Carolyn Strauss, Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells, PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, and Rose Lam. Kantemir Balagov is directing the pilot.
Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Mazin’s Word Games, The Mighty Mint and game developer Naughty Dog are producing.
