The next chapter in the terrifying Outlast series, entitled The Outlast Trials, has been unveiled and it’s getting four player co-op.
Red Barrels has announced that The Outlast Trials is well into development; and it apparently takes place during the Cold War era, so it will not be a direct sequel but will inhabit the same universe as its predecessors.
It has also been revealed that up to four players will be able face The Outlast Trials together in a new co-operative mode. Hopefully this won’t detract from the scariness of the game, but added co-op modes have turned some fans off other survival horror franchises in the past, such as with Dead Space 3 or F.E.A.R. 3.
“We are proud to reveal the title and the first image of the game to our great community and fans,” said Red Barrels co-founder David Chateauneuf. “Our team is hard at work creating a new experience that will bring fear and anxiety to millions of players, whether they go through the experiments alone or with friends.”
