“Always come away motivated by the amazing creative talent here in Japan,” Spencer says.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently revealed on Twitter that he was in Japan, talking to various studios and publishers about 2020 and beyond. Recently, Spencer took to Twitter again, with his week in Japan now over, briefly talking about what his discussions with various Japanese developers and publishers entailed.
Spencer says he spent his week talking with various studios and publishers about E3 2020 – which Microsoft have confirmed they will be attending – as well as other things, such as the upcoming Xbox Series X, and Microsoft services like Game Pass and Project xCloud. Though Spencer (obviously) says nothing about it, given how many times he’s expressed interest in it in the past, one would hope he discussed the possibility of acquiring a Japanese studio as well. Check out his tweet below.
Given how proactive Spencer has been in terms of working with Japanese developers and publishers to gain more support for Xbox and to get more traction for the brand in Japan, it’s no surprise to hear about this stuff. Here’s hoping we get to see something exciting as a result of these discussions in the near future.
Amazing week in Japan talking Xbox Series X, @XboxGamePass and Project xCloud w/ publishers and studios. Played announced and unannounced games, talked #E32020 and discussed gaming’s future. Always come away motivated by the amazing creative talent here in Japan. @Xbox_JP https://t.co/H2s67JG2Ie
